MOnday.. December 3rd, 1945 at 10 A.H.
The Honorable Board of Je:f'.ferson COUflty Col1lll1-seioners met on the above named date and hour with
all members present: Arthur C. Boren, Chairman, Hugh Nisbet and Tom llilroy, members.
The minutes of tho November meeting were reasd and approved.
The yearly report of the Agricultural office in charge of Miss Claire Bemis waa received by the
Board and proved to be a very fine report1n detail.
The Peterson Brothers apoesred before the Board with a request that they ba permitted to make an
offer for sane dead cedal"' to be ull"d as hop props on the wi of swi (E 9241) in Sec 33, Twp 28N, R 2 W.
and upon a motion mode, seconded and.passed it WaS agreed to sell this down timber to them for the
IJWII of 360.00, which 'I'Ial3 paid at this time and turned over to the Treasurer.
A delegation of Corlo citi%ena called upon the Board ~sking that the road t~ Coyle be improved by
the addition of some grl!vel in Various spots, which was agreed upon by the Board and the Engineer was
instructed to look the road over and give it his imnediate attention.

NOTICE OF HEARING ON EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION
Notice is here~ given that the following resolution was unanbnously Paseed at a session of the
Board .of Jefferson County Commissioners on L~cember 4th, 1945:
/ WHEREAS: It is desirable that a Jefferson County Memorial Park be established for
recreational purposes to commemorate the service to the county and the nation of our war veterans,
WHEREAS: Such e project could not have been reasonabl, forseen at the time of the making
of the county budget for 1946
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that a public hearing be held at a rogular meeting of the
Board of Jefferson County COlJlffiissioners at the Court House at 10 A.M. Monday, December 17th, 1945,
on ~he question of the emergency appropriation of $5000 from the General Expense Fund in 1946
for llcquiring certain tracts in Blocks 53 and ~ of the Original TownsllLte of Port Townsend, for
grading and for other expense incidental to establishing such a Memorial Park, and
BE IT FUR'IHER RESOLVED that the County Auditor be requested till publish in the official
county newspaper a notice that a public hearing will be held on such an appropriation at 10 A.M.,
December 17, 1945, And that all interested parties are invited to appear at such hearing to give
such evidence as they wish thereon.
All interested parties are hereby invited to appear at such hearing to give evidence for or
against such an emergency appropriation.

Motion Was made by Mr. Nisbet, Seconded by Mr. Milroy and passed that Lots 4 to 16 incluoive
of Block 11, and Lots 11 to lS inclusive and Lot 20 of Block 11~ oJ: the Original Townsite of
Quilcene be Get aside forever for a communi, ty sewage dispoe!.'~ system end this ,!laS so ordered .
Notice to be served on the County Treasurer to ear mark this property for such porpose.

Motion made seconded and passed by the entire Board to sell to the City of Port Townsend
for the sum of $1.00 the following described property for park purposes:
Beginning At intersection of meander line with west line of San Jose Avenue(Kuhn St),
thence north 313 feet, more or less to low water line, soufh 810 05' west 202.4 feet to east side
of Sacramento Ave; South 287 feet to meAnder line and south 770 45' east 204.5 feet to point of
beginr~ng; othel~ise kno~n and described on the Aasaasor'a Plat a..d Descripbion Book as Tiueland
Tax E in Section 34, Township 31 N, Ege 1 W. W.M., containing 1.27 acres, more or less.
A meeting was held with the Board r".llative to tlle Public' Health setup at which Mrs. Stutler
Dr. Benham, Mr. Carder and Mr. Shelby were preaent. Mr. Carder and Mr. Shelby askj.ng that they
receiYe more nursing attention at their respective schools than haS been given in the Past.
Dr. Benham stated that as soon f)S he could secure the services c1' anot.her nurse the service would
be improved, vmich he hoped to be able to do soon.
