Monday, January ~~ 1949. l
The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session this
date at 10:00 A. M., with Chairman Lyall Arey, George Hub~ingford and Tom Milroy, member
present. This being the t1.me advertised for opening bids on gasoline and oil for the Ii
County for 1948, the following bids were received: \,
Union 011 Company Ethyl 0.219 Standard 0.194 Oil - .66 and .59 \11
Associated 011 Co. .01 below posted tank wagon prt ces. i
Shell 011 Co. .219 .204 tank wagon price II

The Board decided that bids would be taken under advisement, and awarded at Ia I"t
later- date.
Bids were also opened as follows on dump trucks to be sold as advertised:

A motion was made seconded and carried that the bid of Jas. A.DeLeo of $3;0.00 for
the Ford Va be accepted, and the bid of Chas. Jacobs in amount of $261.16 on the 1933
Model &. Dump truck be accepted. '

The .Board granted pay raises to cmplo:rees of the County Engineer'S oft! ce for 1948 ii
in amount of $10.00 each per month, and $'.06 per hour for road workers for Jefferson Co~nty.
The bid of Burner Oil Sales of $.004 below posted tank wagon price on oil was receiv~d
too late to consider. . Ii
Mr. M. R. Strong and Mr. Max Plattner appeared relative to increase of tax on pin ii
ball machines. Mr. Strong offered $;.00 eachllobrr1iVery machine in the county as location!:
license in addition to the $1,000.00 master license. The matter w~s continued to January
6, 1948 at 1:00 p.m. for further cQb<'lideration. ii

Mr. Loren MOsley appeared requesting permission to erect a hangar at the airport. The
Board will confer with Airport manager and decide later on the matter.
The Board signed the Order to cancel delinquent property taxes, pursuant to Chapter
130 Laws of 1925.
County Treasurer S. V. Peach filed a statement officially designating the First Am- k,',: . '
erican National Bank as depository for county funds. w
