WHEREAS, at the time ~he 1948 budget was being pre~~red the amount of overdraft in the Public Health fund during tho year 1948 could not be foreseen, and WHEREAS, at the beginning of the year 1948 the Public Health fund w~s and at the prosont time is overdrawn in about the sum ot *2,'00.00, and WHEREAS, it 1a noceesary for the preservation of public health that this fund be kept 801 vent, NOW THEREFO~ BE IT RESOLVED that an amergency exists, and the undersigned Boar~ of Commissionors of Jefferson County does hereoy appropriate the sum of $2,500.00 for the Dublic Health fund and diroots that the Treasurer of Jefferson County transfer this amount from the County Ourrent Expense fund to the County Public Health fund. Mr. C. T. Williams appeared and filed his appointment as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney to act during the absence of A. C. Grady. The appointment was confirmed by the Board. A petition was received from a number of residents of OlympuB Beach for constructio~ of approximately 1100 feet more or leas of road. No action taken. The Order of Sale of County Property on September 4th, 1948, was signed by tbe Board of County Commissioners. Meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m., to meeting date of August 10, 1948, for special health meeting. I Tuesday, August 10, 1948. A meeting of the OlympiC Health District was held in the Court Room of the County Court House, Port Townsend, ~efferson County, Washington, ,at 7:30 p.m. The following members of the Health Board and officials were in attendance: Commissioners Evans O'Brien and Fletcher, Port Angeles, Tom Milroy, Quilcene, City Commissioner, Port Angeell3L Bill Johnson, City Councilman, Port Townsend, Ra1p"Steele, Dr. Risser, Sanitarians, D. A. ,Morr:1Ron and George Green, Nurse, Dor:l.s Stuart. Temporary chairman Ralph Steele called the meeting to order and proceeded with the order of business in reviewing the propol3sd charter of the District Board of Health ae outlined. by Dr. Risser. A motion was Made seconded and unanimously carried to approve the Charter in its amended torm. A motion was Made seconded and carried appointing , Robert Of Brien of Clallam County as permanent chairman of the district. A motion was made, seconded and carried appointing Councilman Ralph Steele of Port Townsend as altarnate chairman. I A motion was made and duly secondad that the proposed budget be tentatively approved in its present form. Authority to approve vouchers before submitting for payment was on motion mnde and seconded, designated to Commissionerc Evans (Clall~and Huntingford (Jefferson). The meeting was then adjourned. ~ Monday, August 16, 1948. The Board met in regular session at 10:00 A. M. A letter was reoeived from the Chamber of Commerce, Port Townoond reQuestlnr that $200.00 be placed in the 1949 budget to be u6~d in proparation of the 1~51 oentenn a1 col~b~ation to be observed in Port Town-' aSDd.
