WHEREAS! the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as Agent of;
and for the fublic Roads Administration of the Federal Works Agency of the United Ii
States of America, is desirous of constructing a Federal Aid Project, No. S-0497-(1) in ':

'Wn"EREAS, the Department or Highways of the State of Washington, acting as Agent fOI1!
the United States Public Roads Administration, is desirous of receiving Federal Funds ,j
for the improvement of said road, and i;

WHEREAS, the s~~ Public Roads Administration of the Federal Works Agency of the 'i
United States of America will not participate in the construction of said road until and:
unless the County of JeffWs9n will agree to refrain from permitting encroachments upon J:
, the ri@:1t of way" of said above-mentioned road, and until and unless the County of Jefferson
will agree on said above-mentioned road or that will give preference to local routes of it
"Slow" and/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will unreasonably hinder or delay ;1
traffic on said above-mentioned road, and until and unless the County of Jefferson will
agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the grades of the improvement as the grades of
the county road that is involved, and agree to protect the State of Washington against
any and all claims for damages on account of any changes of grades and the construction "
of this il!ip17ovemen't, and until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree to maintain'
said improvement within the limits of the County of Jefferson after the improvement has
been completed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners o.(/the County
of Jefferson that for and in consideration of the Department of Highways of the State of
Washington and the Public Roads Administration of the Federal Works Agency of the United
States of America constructing said road and routing traffic on same over and across
the NW! of the NE; the SW! of the NE~, the NW~' of the SE~, the SW! of the SE! and the
SE~ of the SW~ of Section 20, Township 28 North, Range One (1) West, W. M.; and the NE!
of the NW~ of Section 29,. Township 28 North, Range One (1) West, W. M. '
and ,
Jefferson County hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the State of Washington
and the Public Roads Administration of the Federal Works Agency of the United States of '
America, that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on the right of way of the
said above mentioned road or that will give preference to local routes which intersect
with said road, other than by the erection or installation of "slow" and/or "Caution" signs
or Signals, or that will slow up, unreasonably hinder or delay traffic on said above-
mentioned road, and that it will, by suitable reSOlution, adopt the grades of the improve-
ment as the grades of the county road that is involved, and hereby agrees to protect the
State of Washington against any and all claims for damages on account of changes of grades
and the construction of this improvement, and hereby further agrees to maintain said
,improvement within the limits of the County of Jefferson after this improvement has been
completed.
PASSED the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, Washington, this 16th
day of August, A. D. 1948.
