The Board met at 10:00 A. M. County engineer Jones appeared and requested that II
: the Board enter into an asreement with Eastern Jefferson Soil Conservation District ii
, to approve th el r soil conservation program. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the!
Board entered into the agreement and the Memorandum of Understanding was signed and filed.
A certificate of appointment as Custodian of County land at Dabob Bay, was signed
by the Board authorizing E. K. Westley to act as custodian of oyster land owned by the
County.
Mr. and Mrs. Turner and Mr. Elnd Mrs. Grover from Nordland appeared re1atige
roads on the Island on which the rural ma.il carrier hr,s to travel carrying mail.
Jones has agreed to view the road and make his report as to repairs necessary to
the road up to standard.
The members of the Board spent the afternoon on road inspection in Eastern Jefferson
County.

Chairman of the Board, Lyall Arey, Prosecuting Attorney A. Clemens Grady and Count\
Auditor, Helen J. Eads, spent the day in counting absentee bellots from the November 2nd
, General Election, and in canvassing the returns of the election.
Monday, November 15, 1948.
The Board met in regular session at 10:00 A. M.

Mr. George Robbins, Quilcene, appeared requesting the school bus to travel down
the old road to his place or to have a new road built to the school bus route. Engr.
Jones will make an investigation into the matter.
