WASHINGTON Mr. Paul Jlaphis of the Feenaughty Machinery Company, conferred with Board members. Several more County roads wore inspected for ascertaining damage done by freezing :: weather and thaws, during the winter. I Friday, March 11, 1949. This being the time advertised for opening bids for the sale of one shovel and one trailer, the following bids were received. $3,601.50 I $4,091.00 It was moved, seconded and carried that the shovel and trailer be sold to Mr. Leonard Johnston for the Bum of $4,091.00. Applications for liquor licenses for the following were approved: Robert Malcolm Kocher, for Irondale Grocery. Otto Ernest Witzke and Lillian M. Witzke, d/b/a Discovery Bay Tavern, R#2, Port Townsend, for H License. Mr. Bert Lomsdalen appeared relative to right of way desired by the County on the Tarboo Lake Road over property owned by Mr. Lomsda1en. It was agreed upon payment of $200.00 by the County, that the 30t right of way will be given. A quit-claim deed was signed" by Mr. Lomsdalen. ' Mr. Jerry Getz appeared. The Board agreed to give Mr., Getz a verbal lease to the lold Fair Grounds from the present d ate to December 31, 1949, at $50.00 per year. Monday, Mar ch 21, 1949. The Board of County Commissioners met at 10:00 A. M. Roy Freeman and Roy Nordby of Nordland appeared with a delegation of residents ',relati ve to the discontinuance of night servi ce on the Hadlock-Nordland Ferry. II motion ,was mada by Mr. :Y'arr to run the ferry three nigh'ts a week from 10:00 to 12:00 (3 trips), 'if it can be worked out with the Port Comm.ission. Mr. Arey appointed Mr. Yarr and Mr. ;!Keith Jones to meet with the Port Commission. No action was taken on the motion until Ithe meeting with the Port Commission. Mr. Stanley Lybeck aId Mr. and Mrs. Turner were" ,among those appee,ring with the Nordland residents. lw. M. M. Stawart and Mr. Moe, oystermen from Black Point Road District Hood Canal appeared be fore the Board. Mr. Arey appointed Tom Milroy and Jame s Yarr to ~ccompany , the County Engineer to the location on the Black Point Road to ascertain whether it would :he feasible for them to put a gate on the channel into a small lake, to heat the water 101' the propagati on of oysters.
