Wednesday, July 6, 1949.
Mr. JessTiffany appeared relative to Fairs and the Board ruled by motion made by
James Yarr1 seconded by Tom Milroy, that the 1949 Class B - Jefferson County Fair for.
4H and ad~ts be held at Quilcane, and Class D Fair for 4H and adults be h~ld at Port
Townsend. No plana are made for future fairs.
The Board proceeded to count the cash in the Treasurer's office and found the
amount of $2,36a.82 to be correct. The Treasurer'S cash Rep~t was signed by the Board.
Thursday, July 7, 1949.
Mr. Ernest A. Huntley and Mr. T. S. Hedges of the State Tax CoWmission conferred
with the Board on tax problems.
The Board spent the day examining and approving bills as follows:

The Board met at 10:00 A. M. Albert Clark was reappointed Justice of the Peace for
Quilcene to serve until his successor is qualified.

The Union Oil Company quit-claimed $29.69 acres back to Jefferson County in tho
West End of the County, upon which they had oil and gas leases, in Township 24t N. R. 12
W., W. M., as they do not care to continue same in the future. ^ copy of tho aoed wns
received for the county's use.
Th0 Board spent the afternoon inspecting the Coyle Hill road and also the Griffith
Road as work haa been completed on the latter J'oed, and is to ba finally acceptod by
the County.
