The Honorable Board of Jefferson Oounty Commissioners met in regular session at'
the Court House, PoX't Townsend, at 10:00 A. M., this datet with all members present.
The Minutes of the last regular session were read ana. approved as read. ."'i
A notification was received from the State Liquor Board adviBing that the liquor
permit issued to Goo. Miller and Wm. Durst d/b/a Valley Tavern, Chimacum, has been
transferred to George and Florence Miller. .
An application for liquor permit was approved for Leon G. Dleu d/b/a Curley's Placi,
Route 2, Port TOwnsend.
A report was received from the Puget Sound Navigation Company for the month of
June, 1949 on the Edmonds-Port Ludlow Ferry sho~ng a net profit of $7,407.60 for that
month.
A petition was received from the West End residents for the formation of a Public
Hospital District in the Hoh and QUGElts Precincts. This was referred to the County
Auditor for certification of signers as registered voters.

to the Ozette Railway Company for the Clearwater River Flood Control Project. This was
signed by Chairman of the Board, Lyall Are~guaranteeing Jefferson County would conform
with conditions and maintenance on the property known as part of NE; SEk, Sec. 20, T.
23 N., R 10 West, W. M., as set out by Ozette Railway Company.
Mrs. Harry Swanson appeared regarding the Swansonville Hill road.
Mr. Skirv1ng and Mr. Tracoy members of the Bramerton Chamber of Commerce appeared
relative to ferry service from South Point to Lofoll before completion of the Agate Pass:
Bridge. They requested the Board to act favorably on securing ferry service on that
route.
Mr. Harry LeGear and Mr. Bradford from Port Angeles appeared relative to ferry ser-
vice on Hood Canal.
A motion was made, seconded and carried that the Preliminary Budget in amount of
$98,283800 is hereby accepted and adopted by the Board of Commissioners. (Hereto attached).
Board recessed at 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, September 7, 1949.
The Board reconvened at 10:00 A.M., and examined and approved bills as follows:

Thursday, September 8, 1949.
The Board reconvened at 10:00 A.M., and spent the day conferring with the County
Engineer and in inspection of ropads in the East end of the County.
Friday, September 9, 1949.
Members of the Board interviewed various residents of the County and several of the
County officials. Consideration of the Budget took up the major portion of the day.
The Board ndjourned at 4:00 p.m.

Monday, September 19, 1949.
The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met at 10:00 A. M., with all
members present.
An application for County Real Estate was made by Mr. Geo. E. Munn for the Veterans
of Foreign warsi Post No. 32131 Quilcene, for lots 3 to 13, Block 6, Josephine Campbell'S
Addition to Qui cene, and $5.5.uO was offered. That certain parcel of land above des-
cribed is now being held for park PUJ:"pOBOS, and waa consider3d by the Board. It was
noted this had been set aside by Resolution dated October 4, 1937. After discussing
the matter, the Board considered the situation has changed and it was deemed no longer
feasible and practicable to hold it for park purposes. Therefore, it was moved by Tom
Milroy and seconded by James Yarr and unanimously carried, that the Resolution heretofore
passed reserving said parcel of l~nd for park purpoees be revoked, nullifiod and doalarad
to be of no further force or effect. The application for the above property by the
Vetorans of Foreign Wars wae approved.
Applications for renewals of liquor permits were approved as follows:
