The HonorablQ Board of Jefferson Co~nty Comm1s8ion~rs met at 10:00 A.M., at the Court HI)US9, Port TO\'f"l1send, with all memb~rs present. A delegation of Brinnon residents appeared requesting road repairs for thei.r district. Ingineer Jones explained the cost of work already done and work contemplated in the ten year road program. Messrs. Kelley, Mueller, Lorenzen and McLain were present. The work requested will be completed under this plan. . , A delegation of Quilcene residents appep.red in regard to t~e Little Quilcene. River. Messrs. Larson, Jakeway and Ronnie were present. These residents will be requested to be present at that timo. Messrs. Freeman, Johnson and Nordby of Nordland appeared relative to a cemetery at Nordland. Two cattlepasses are needed at the present cemetery site. A motion was mado by iJllllJM'l(~'InqJ;CC James Yarr and seconded by Tom Milroy that a road to the cemetery will be deeded to the County. The County will then permanently maintain the road and build the two cattlapasses required. MOtion carried. Julian Oen, A. C. Ramsdell and Tom Yarr, members of the Port Co~sion met with the Ii Board and Capt. Abbott of Fort Worden relp.tive to the operation of the Nordiand Ferry. i Capt. Abbott reported the Army proposes to move a considerable number of men to Fort ;1 Flagler within a short t:l.rne, and that additional ferry service is imF!orativEl. Service :: from 6:00 A. M., to ll:OOp.m., hourly on the hour is definitely needled. Th~ Board agroe~,i to underwrite tne operation of the Nordland Ferry for additional daily service, 6:00 A.M.!, to 11:00 p.m., from Mar 15th until such date as a. decision 'is made as to whether the Ij Indian Island Bridge w:Lll be construct.ed. Jas. Yarr made and motion seconded by Tom Mil~y, and unanimously carried. ,! Alfred C. Smith made application 'for SESE, except S 10 B.cres, Soc. 6, T. 30 R 1 w., :i W. M., and offered $100.00. Approved by the Board. . Ii I I ; Mrs. Raymond Ammeter appeared and' rep'orted the County is removing sand from her ,! property at Adelma Beach. Engineer Jones 'informed her the property lines will be checked:' and road men informed of the boundaries end no sand will be removed from property owned by Mrs. Ammeter. A petition signed by residents of Fairmount requesting the road running 5outhw~8t out of Fairmcunt be changed, from the McIntyre property or the large gulCh, and be mnde to follow the old port Townsend Southern Railroad right of way, and to join the main State Highway at the R~me point where said right of way intersects the State Highway at the head of Discovery Bay. Engineer Jones will make a survey of the property and make a decision as to the feasibility of the request. Meeting adjounned at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, MarEh 7, 1950. The Board met at 10:00 ~.M., Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved as re~d. The County Engineer accompanied Board members to view repair work on varioml Count~. roads. Most of the day was spent in this manner. , Wodnesday, March $, 1950. Mr. Mills and Mr. Glenn R. WRtson, Dept. of Highways, appeared relative to right of way on State Highway on County Property Bt Junction City. Deeds wIll be prepared by Sta~e and forwarded to the Board for signatures. Matter approved. " Mr. Joseph Welch appeared relative to insurance on County garage, dwelling and oquip~ ment at Chimacum!, and garage at ~ullcene. The Board agreed to l.11SU:t'O thl!
