road equipment wi ~h the Board.
The members spent the afternoon on road inspection in the Mats Mats District. Recess.
The Board will meet in regular session on Monday, July 17th.

The Board met at 10:00 A. M., with all members present. }fa'. E. K. Westley and
Miss Alice Lindsay appeared requesting repairs to Lindaay road at Dabob. The matter
will be taken up at the earliest convenience.
Mr. Jack W. Miller and Mr. W. J. Daly representing First American National Bank
!!let with the Board regarding finances a."'ld Current E:il.pense Fund. It was agreed that e.
special levy of 3.1 mills will be put on the primary ballot to assist in aiding the
, deficit in Current Expense Fund, and to provide funds for necessary operation during 1951.
The contract with the Diesel Oil Company was signed by the Board for bituminous
surfacing of Port Townsend and Jefferson County streetu and roads.
Mr. Norris Short appeared relative to ferry operations, voicing his objection to
the present system.
'r. Keith Jones, Engineer appeared with supplemental road budget for 1950 in amount
of $75,548.44. Upon mo~tion made by Tom Milroy, and seconded by James Yarr, the date
of August 21, 1950 was set for hearing on the final supplemental road budget.
The 1951 preliminary Tuberculosis Hospitalization budget in amount of $20,817.00
was approved by the Boa~d. '
The agreement wi. th the puget Sound Navigation Company for operation of the Lofal1-
South Point Ferry was extended to February 1, 1951. Extension agreement signed by
Commissioners Tom Milroy and James C. Yarr.
Land applications were approved as follows:
Dora Schechert -Dabob, SE SW NE Sec. 19, T. 27 R. 1 E, offered $50.00.
Jerry A. Peters N'/;~ NE~ 5e(;.29''1'. 25 N., R 2 W offered $120.00
Mr. Mercer appeared relative to operating a log dump at Quilcene. The mtter. wao
taken under advisement by the Board.
No further business appearing, the meeting was adjourned until the first Monday
in August, 1950.
