Monday, August 7, 1950.
The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met this date at the hour of
10:00 o'clock A. M., all members of the Board being present. Minutes of the last regular
meeting ,were read and approved.
Mr. Leslie George Hubble of Clearwater, Washington appeared before the Board in regard
to a log jam on the Clearwater river near his place. He wants same removed and offered
some assistance in the cost of removal. The Board raferred the matter to the County ,
Engineer as a project to be assisted with Flood Control Funds.

Mr. Hubble prefiented a petition to the Board signed by residents of the West End :
of Jefferson County requesting the hard surfacing or the Clearwate~ Valley Road from H1~~way
101 to the north boundary of Section 18, Twp. 24 N., Range 12 W., appI'ox:1mately four mll~s.
Pursuant to the State Patrol's request for restrictions on spped limit from 35 to 25
miles, the Board ordered the County Engineer for compliance with request and notices posted
in accordance therewith, on the Clearwater River Road. The old sign of 35 miles per hour
is to be taken down. Motion by Tom Milroy, seconded by James Yarr and so carried.

The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed for filing, the plat of Trails
End Homesites for Disable&War Veterans, as presented by Mr. Walter Evans, the same having
been passed by the County Engineer fulfilling all requirements before recording with ::
County Auditor. Motion to accept by Commissioner Milroy, seconded by James Yarr. :i

Mr. C. M. Mercer appeared in person before the Board to seek a place of booming for!!
. his logging operation on Quilcene Bay in connection with so called Little Quj,lcene Sales!!
of Govern~ment timber, and it appearing in the interest of public welfare, espectilly Ii
l'n th reference to the precinct of Quilcene, that some form of lease be executed i it was'i
thereupon agreed, that upon the guaranty of Mr. Mercer, that he would pay the Reversion~y
Rights to the State of Washington in addition to lUs bid of $500.00 for the property. The Ii
same will be put up for sale, and in the interval, a Lease with rental returns of ,6.00 ii
per month will be entered into. Upon motion :made and duly seconded, it was unanimously II
resolved that the foregoing objective be accomplished, and that written form of Lease be Ii
