County Treasurer S. V. Peach appeared before the ~oard and requested authority to
pay interest in amount of $260.00 for the General Obligation Bonds of the County. Reso-
lution No. C-177 was s:I. gned as foiblows:
RESOLUTION NO. C-177.
In order to meet the payment of semi-annual interest upon Jefferson County
General Obligation Bonds, ~e Treasurer of Jefferson County be and he is hereby authorized
and empowered to transfer from the Current Expense of said Jefferson County to the
General Obligation Bond and Interest Fund the sum of $260.00.
ADOPTED this 1st day of April, 1952.

A letter from the State Highway Commission advised that ourJ>ercentage of gas tax
money for the period April 1, 1952 to March 31, 1954 will be .gS%.
Recess at 4:00 P.M.
April 7, 1952.
The Honorable Board of County Commissioners met at 10:00 A. M., with all members
present.
Mr. W. A. C. Coulter, Sr., appeared in behalf of W. A. C. Coulter, Jr., for vacation
of that portion of 4th Street as shown on the plat of South Port Townsend, extending
from the E. line extended of B. Street to the W. line of plat of South Port To\vosend,
said 4th St. being 40' in width. No objections being entered, and the matter having
been duly posted, the Board granted the vacation. W. J. Daly appeared in the matter.
An arler of Vacation will be entered April 11th.
The bid of the Port Townsend Leader for County printing was received as follows:
First insertion gO~ per inch, subsequent insertions, 65~ per inch. Upon motjon made
by James Yarr, seconded by Bertil Kruse and unanimously carried, the bid was accepted.
. A petition was received by the Board from Wayne Wolfer, signed by various merchants
for the sale of fireworks. Upon motion made by James Yarr, seconded by Berti1 Kruse,
and unanimously carried, it was declared that only legitimate business places will be
allowed to sell fireworks of the type approved by the State, between the dates of July 1,
to 5, 1952, and at a fee of $5.00 as set by State Law, Chapter 174 of the Laws of 1950-
1951. Resolution No. C-17g was signed as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. C-17g.
The Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, having considered the matter
of the sale of fireworks in this County, and since Chapter 174 of the Laws of 1951,
State of Washington, sets forth in detail, the type of fireworks which may be sold,
used or ~xploded in this State,
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, That Resolution No. C-117 dated June 9, 1950 be and is
hereby rescinded, and therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the sale of such fireworks as are pennitted by Stat.e law to be
eold, can only be sold between the dates of July 1st and July 5th inclusive, and not
otherwise, and only by regularly established busine9S places paying the fee of $5.00
to the COW1ty CIQrk for the required permit.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that no fireworks shall be used or exploded in thie County
except between the dates herein stated,
