Monday, November 3, 1952.
The Honorable Board of County Commissioners met at 10:00 A. M., with all members
present.
A letter was received from the State Dept. of HigtJ.ways notifying the County that
the State will turn over certain sections of road on primary State "ighway No.9,
Contractor's Gulch to Junction City, to the County road system, as rtot being necessary
due to new State Highway in that section.
A notice was received from State Liquor Bo~rd that due to the death of Wm. B. Morse,
d/b/a Upper Hoh Store Forks, special permission is ~ranted to Catherine M. Morse,
Administratrix of thelState, allowing her to operate the business under the license
privileges of the deceased.
Mrs. Wiley Magee, Mrs. Hector MUnn appeared before the Board relative to the Leland
Improvement Club Inc., deeirlng a lease for twenty years on the County owned building
at Loland, used by the Improvement Club. Mrs. Ana Munn, Pres., Mrs. Viola Alden, Sec.,
and ~rs. Jean Kawamotoi Treasurer. The Prosecuting Attorney will be requested to draw
up the lease, which wi 1 be approved by the members of the Board.

Friday, November 'P, 1952.
The Board met at 10:00 A. M. A land application was approved for E. M. Starrett
as follows:
Pettygrove's 2nd, Port Townsend, and lots in Railroad Addition to Port Townsend,
offered $440.00.
Various residents .conferrred with Board members . and the Board members accompanied
the County Engineer to view certain roads in the County.
Monday, November 17, 1952.
The Board of County Commissioners met at 10:00 A. M., with all members present.
An application for County Real Estate was signed as folloKs:
Herbert J. Newman, Irondale, Lots 11 and 12 and Lot 13, Block 32, offered $12.50.
A resignation was received from Thomas Lieb as Assessor of Jefferson County, and
in that connection a motion was made by Bertil Kruse, seconded by James Yarr appointing
Hoface Gleason as Assessor for the remaining part of the term. Mr. Gleason has been
acting Assessor since March, 1951.
This being the time fixed for hearing on petition for vacatiOl~ of st,1"f!ets in
"1hlCt~1 26, 27 28 and 29 in Plat of Bellevue, as recorded on Auditor's plat of Jefferson
County, A. Clemens Grady and Ervin Kelly appeared and testified. dpon motion duly made
by Bertil Kruso, seconded by James Yarr, the Order of Vacation was signed as follows:
