The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commiesi oners met in regular session at
10:00 A. M., with all members present.
A petition for vacation of 10th Ave. in the Plat of 7th Ave. Acre Tracts, in Vol.
2 of Plats, Page 127, lying between the Northerly right of way line of Highway 7,
known as 4 Corners to Chimacum County Road and Southe rly right of way of County road
leading to Irondalel over tracts 161 and 1~2, was received from J. C. Harper and Helen
Harper. '!he Board Uxed the time for hearing as 10:00 A. M., January 5, 1953.
The matter of dividing the Federal Forest Reserve Fund was brought up at this time.
Representatives of the school districts of the County were present and discussed many
plans and formulas for distribution. The amount of '408,497.45 was to be divided equally
between roads and schools, the amount.of $204,248.73 being given to roads and a like
a~unt being given to schools, which will be divided in accordance with a plan to be
agreed upon by the County Superintendent of Schools and the Superintendents of the school
districts of JefferD"l County. A motion was made by Bertil Knlse, seconded by James
Yarr, to postpone hearing until the County Superintendent informs the Board that a
satisfactory plan of division has been agreed upon by the School Buperintendents.
Land applications were approved for:
H. J. Carroll - Railroad Add. to Port Townsend, Lots 1-4 Block 1, Lot 1,
Block 2, and Lots 1-16, Block 3, Lots 1-32, Block 4 and Lots 1 to 15, Block 5 less Right
of Way. Eisenbeia Addition, Less Right of Way, Lots 1-12 and 14 to 16, Block 10i Lots
1 to 5, Block 11, Lots 1 to 4 Block 17, Lots 27 to 32, Block 17 Lots 1 to 5, Bock 18,
Lots 7 to 16t Block 1$, Lots i9 to 32, Block 18, Lots 10 to 14, Block 32, Lots 16 to 23,
Block 32, ana Undivided half interest in Lots 24, Block 32. Less Right of Way, Lots
25 to 32, Block 32, Lots 1 to 10, Block 33 and Lots 20 to 24 and 26 to 32, Block 33.
Offered $600.00.
A notice was received from Washington State Liquor Board notifying the Board that
Raymond E. Burns, d/b/a Trails' End Tavern, South Point Ferry Docie, Shine, Rt. 1, has
discontinued licensed operations at above location and submitted his license to State
Liquor Board.
A call was made for bids on gasoline, oil grease and fuel oil for Jefferson County,
for 1953 to be opened January 9, 1953 at 10:00 A. M.
An order of sale was signed directing the Treasurer to sell real estate at a public
sale December 26, 1952.
When Resolution No. C-176 was signed on March 17, 1952 relative to distribution of
Federal Forest Reserve Funds, no provision was made for placing the $$iOOO.oo alloted to
Quilcene School Grounds and Streets in a special fund, and it being ca led to the atten-
tion of the Board that it is necessary for a special fund to be carried by the County
Treasurer, Resolution No. CQ190 was signed as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. C-190
WHEREAS, RESOLUTION NO. C-176 under date of March 17 1952 directed that in the
distribution of Federal Forest Reserve Funds, the first $A,ooo.oo was to be expended
for the improvement, of certain Quilcene City Streets adjacent to the Quilcene SchOOl,
and tho Quilcene School Grounds, with any unexpended balance reverting to the Jefferson
County Road Fund.
No provision was made for this amount of money being placed ina special fund,
explicitly for' the above purpose, and
THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Treasurer of Jefferson County transfer
from the JefferRon County Road Fund, the above $8,000.00 to a special fund marked
"Quilcene Street and School Ground Improvement Fund", a8 per Minutes of the Board dated
March 17l 1952, and that upon completion of the work, any balance left in the fund may
be tranal"erred back to the County Road Fund, as directed in Resolution No. C-176.
