Monday, December 15, 1952.
Tho Board of County Commissioners met at 10:00 A. M., with all members present.
Mr. and Mrs. WIn. P. Johnson of Hadlock, appeared requesting work on drainage at
their property. The Dlembers of the Board will view the property with the County Engineer
the latter part of the weee, to ascertain if the County is responsible for the condition.
f.tr. Max Plattner appeared and reported on pin ball machines, which at this time
al"C only foul" im number in the County. A motion was made by James C. Yarr seconded
by Bertil Kruse that the County will fix the master license for 1953 at $560.00, which
is t~&t1eractory 'to Mr. Plattner.
Mr. Nei.l Pendley, representative of the Teamsters' Union, appeared and discussed
salmes of. road employees with the Board members.
It being the timo a dvertlaed for the vacation of that portion of Sound Road in
Basalt Beach lying between Lots 7 and a, Tract 1, of said Plat of Basalt Beach. Mr.
A. C. Grady appeared representing Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth L. Rathbun the petitioners. The
Board signed the following Order of Vacation:
ORDER OF VACATION
This matter having come on to be heard this day upon the application of Kenneth L.
Rathbun and Velma R. Rathbun, his wife, for an order vacating:
That portion of the Sound Road in the said plat
of Basalt Beach, Jeffer~on County, Washington
lying between Olympus Boulevard of said Plat and
Admiral ty Inlet:
and it appearing to the Board of County Commissioners for Jefferson County that notice
of the hearing on said application was given by posting for the time and in the manner
pl"ovided by law; no person or persons appearing to object, and said Petitioners being
the sole owners of all property abutting upon the said portions of said road sought to
be vacated,
THEREFORE, it is by the tioARD OF COUNTY cO~~rrSSIONERS for JEFFERSON COUNTY, WASH-
INGTON, in regular session assembled,
ORDERED:
be and the same is
That that portion of the Sound Road in the said
Plat of Basalt Beach~ Jefferson County, Washington,
lying between Olympus Boulevard of said Plat and
Admiralty Inlet;
hereby vacated.

Engineer Keith Jones reported on County road at the Si Brainard farm south side of
the Glendale Farm. Arrangements were made to secure a right of way on his property for
County road widening. Mr. Brainard is to move his fence and the county to cut brush
on th a right of way.
Arrangements ware made to call for bids for two County trucks, to be opemd January
19thz for one dump truck to weight more than 4400 lbs. with Galion Hoise Mod. GH 567 or
equaJ., and one dump truck to weight more than 9000 lbs. with Galion Hoise Mod. GH-58 or
equa.l.
No furthe r business appearing, the meeting adjourned until January 5, 1953.
