Pedersen being the same, Bertil Kruse moved and seconded by Lyall Ar~y ~~at the contracts be awarded as follows: J. C. Harper, au months, January to June, 1953, inclust ve. J. A. Pedersen, six months, July to December, 1953, inclusive. J. A. Harper on diesel, furnace and stove oil. A motion was made by BertU Kruse, seconded by Lyall Arey to give Unioh on Company the business in the West end of the County. A petition was received from Tonr J. Bogachus and Doris L. Bogachus for vacati on of part of Hamilton Ave. I in the Origina Townsite of Quilcene from the N. line of Muncie St.. and bounded on the East by Lots 1 and 20 of Block 7, and on the West by Lots 10 and 11 o~ Block 2. A motion made by Berti 1 Kruse, seconded by Lyall ft.rey fixing February 16th at 10:00 A. M., as the date of hearing on the peti tion. On Novembe r 17th 1952 it was agreed to rent trucks from Morrison Logging Company for th e purpose of gravel ling the Clear'....ater road, and the Engineer made a report to t be Board on the work accomplished in the matter. Roads at Oak Bll.y, Shine ani South Pojnt are in need of bUlkheading on account of damage suffered by winter storrns. The members of the Board will view the roads before the amount of repairs are decided. Repairs on the Upper Hoh road will Ce postponed for about t'flO months due to the weather. The temporary bridge will be marked for one way traffic. The road will be gravelled and repairs made to the Bt.id.ge. The Cleartlater Roed and Shale Creek Bridge are in need of repairs. The Board authorized the County Engineer t.o make the ne cessary repai"rs. With reference to a former request made for a housing unit to be erected by James Bunce near Chima cum, a letter was receiged from 3enator Warren G. Magnuson that the Army authorities stated justification does not exist for an increase over their approved housing program of 25 units in that vicinity at this time. In regard to the matter of fixing salaries of road crews to confirm to standards set by the Teamsters' Union) the Board upon motion made by Bertil Kruse and seconded by James C. Yarr, increased salaries of employees on road crews $ cents per hour retroactive to January 1, 1953. Recess at 4:00 p.m. I Monday, January 12, 1953. The Honorable Board o~ Jefferson County Commissioners met in session and organized a new Board with George Huntingford as second District Commissioner. Mr. Huntingford and Lyall Arey were sworn into office by Auditor Helen J. Eads. Bertil Kruse made a motion seconded by Goerge Huntingford that Lyall Arey be named Chairman of the Board. Motion carried. F. Webster Cook, Constable, was &6rn into office by Auditor Helen J. Eads. Mrs. Lee C. Davis and Mrs. Ward William appeared in regard to the Chest X-Ray Program set up for March. Due to the danger of severe weather in February, a date in May has been secured for West End X-Ray \"lork as that being thought to be a better time for a complete survey. Jefferson County will be biJ.lad in the amount of $518.,+0 for the X- Ray work) which will be done in March. This covering a two year period, the Jefferson County T. B. League will pay the additional amount for which the County will be obligated, the amount of ~518.1,.0. There belng only $500.00 budgeted for this work. Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Davis also discussed the Jeff ArSon County Fair Association. The nedd for sanitary facilities is great and a request was made for the Engineer to draw up plans for rest rooms, dressing rooms, showers, etc. The Board granted permission to the County Engineer to mOVA a large bulldoz er to the ~est End i~diately as considsrable awount of County road is being washed out. A discussion arose as to the distributi ,)n of Faderal Forest Reserve Funds. A motion was made by Geo. Huntingford, secC)ndor\ by Lynll. Resolution No. C-19l was signed as follows: I RESOLUTION NO. C-19l. The Board of Jefferson County Commissioners for J~ffer30n County, having been advi6ed by the County Treasurer of Jefferson County, that the amount of the allotment due th a County of Jefferson from tho, Fed,eral government from Forest Reserves will be $408,497.45 now therofore, .
