The matter of fixing Justice Court Districts for the County was taken up, and W. J.
Daly. Prosecuting Attorney advised the Board as to findings made at the Prosecuting
Attorneys' meeting held on December 5th. Mrs. Ruth Pyatt, J. P. from Quilcene appeared.
The matter was postponed to December 21st when a report will be received from the
Prosecuting Attorney as to instructions given by the Attorney General's office regarding
redistricting of Justice Court Districts.
A call for bids was made for January 4, 1954 at 10:00 A.M., for furnishing one
~ton pick-up truck according to specificatiQns.
In accordance with a decision made to divide Quilcene Precinct into two voting
precincts and dissolve the Quinault Precinct and combine the area with the Queets
Precinct, Resolution No. C-221 was signed as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. C-221
IT APPEARING to the Board of County Commissioners for Jefferson County, that due
to increase and decrease in population within certain voting precincts in Jefferson
County, Washington, that boundary changes be made, not only to facilitate voting but
to conform with the statute, now therefore, it is
ORDERED:
I
(1) That the voting precinct of QUILCENE be divided into two precincts as follows:
All that portion of the present Quilcene voting Precinct which lies ease of
State Highway No.9, from the southerly boundary of the existing precinct, to its
junction with the Dabob-Quilcene County Road in Section 13, Township 27 North, Range 2
West, W. M., and lying east of the Dabob-Quimcene Road to the northerly boundary of the
existing precinct, shall be known and designated as QUILCENE PRECINCT No.1, and all
the remaining area of the original precinct shall be known and designated as QUILCENE
PRECINCT No.2.
(2) That the Precinct of QUINAULT be dissolved and the area thereof be combined
,iith the precinct of QUEETS, and hereafter shall be known as the precinct of QUEETS.

A land application was approved for DeEtte W. Broderson, Brinnon, for SWSE. Sec. 15,
T 27, R 2 W, offered $200.00
A notice was received from State Liquor Control Board that BCEF liquor license was
granted to John Yakulic and Vern E. Wittmayer/ d.h.a Valley Tavern, Chimacum.
.. A call for bids was made for a bituminous distributor. Upon motion made by Bertil
Kruse and seconded by George Huntingford, a 1250 gal. tank was specified. Bids to be
Bpened 10:00 A. M., January 4, 1954.
Jess Tiffany appeared before the Board with Mr. John Dodge from the State Extension
offi ce and Mr. Oliver O. Orr of Mt. Vernon. Mr. Tiffany will be transferred to Kitsap
County Extension Service and Mr. Orr has been recommended to serve as Extension Agent
for this County. The Boa.rd accepted the appoint:nent of Mr. Orr effective January 1,
1954.

A notico was received from the State Liquor Control Board that the license issued
to Harley R. McKibben, d/b/a Valley Tavern, Chimacum, Wash., has been amended to show
danCing prohibited, and that the license has beon transferred to Vern E. Wittmayer and
John Yackulic undar the sa.me trade name.
A notice was alao received that an application had beon received for an E license
'from N. A. Whitnack d/b/a Whitnak's Grocary, Rt 1, Port Townsend, Wash.
The Board recessed fx'of4 11:30 to 1:30 for the funeral of H. E. Anderson, former
County offi cia1.
