The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commis sioners met in regular session at 10:00 A. M., with all members present. Bids fo r removing bridge on Ludlow Creek received as follows: McDonald Contracting Co. Rl, Port Ludlow, Roy Lindsey, Port Townsend, J. M. Bruch Co., Port Angeles, J. P. Kvinsland, Port Townsend, Robert L. Allen, Chima cum, Leonard W. Smith, Port Townse nd, $5.00 2500.00 1490.00 S25.00 1450.00 750.00 A motion was made by George Huntingford, seconded by bertil Kruse, that the bid of l'jcDona1d Contracting Company of Port Ludlow in amount of $5.00 be accepted. Motion carried. The other bids were erroneously made, the bidders being under the impression the County would pay them the amount of their bids. This being the time advertised for opening bids on a road grader also, the following bids were received: . Howard Cooper Corp., SeattJ.e, Wash. At 11:00 A.M., a motion was made by George Huntingford, seconded by Berti1 Kruse, that the bid of ColI ire Machine Company in amount of $13,383.00 with power steering and plus tax be accepted. Motion carried. Bids on a truck chassis were also opened Kruse Ponqac, Port 'lownsend, '54 GMC - Olympic Garage & Equipment Co., Int. L-210.- Int. R-194 - Thomas Motors, Ford F900 - and those received were as follows: George Huntingford moved and seconded by Hertil Kruse that the bid of Kruse Pontiac be accepted in the amount of $5,895.00. Mr. Arey approved low bid of Thomas Motors in amount of $544l.70. Bid awarded to Kruse Pontiac at $5,895.00. Mrs. Lee Davi 3, appeared before the Board relati ve to Jefferson County Fair Associ ation meeting March 4, ,1954. Engi neer Jones wi 11 be present. A notice was recEdved from the State Liquo.' Control Board that application was received for Raymond E. Burns, d/b/a 'rrails' End Tavern, South Point Ferry DoCI<, aine, for CDE license. Arplic at ion approved. N. A. Whitnack, d/b/a \'lh.1tnack's Grocery R#l, Port 'l'ownsend, applicBtion for liquor license disapproved by State Liquor Control Board as business is substantially the sal~ of gasoline.
