Tuesday, September 7, 1954.
The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session at
10:00 A. M., with all members present.
Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved as read.
This being the time advertised for opening bids on a 1954 dump truck, and the
following bids were received: .
The bid of Olympic Garage & Equipment Company was accepted in the amount of
$3,350.00 with sales tax $100.50, making a total of $3,450.50, by motion duly made by
George Huntingford, seconded by Bertil Kruse. Motion carried.
Notices were received from the State Liquor Cont10l Board that applicc,tions were
received for liquor licenses and approved as follows:
Luella Hamilton & Harris Hamilton, d/b/a Hamilton's, Clearwater EF license.
Lloyd E. McNillen and Gertrude L. McMillen, d/b/a Gert &. Mac's Groce!"J, Route 2,
Dabob, EF license
Corinne E. and Raymond E. Burns, d/b/a Trail's End Tavern, South Point Ferry Dock,
Shine, Rl, Chimacum, CDE license.
Wayne L. Wolfer, d/b/a Eaglemount Service and Grocery, R2, Port Townsend, E license.
Izetta Lorraine Newman - Newman's Grocer"J, Star Route 1, Hadlock, EF license.
Harold M. Grons~th, d/b/a Ruby Be&ch Ocean Resort, Kalaloch, E license.
Leon G. Dieu, d/b/a Curley's Place R2, Port Townsend, BCEF license.
Guy Hathaway and Nina Hathaway, d/b/a Upper Hoh Store, Box 201, Forks, E license.
Berti! Kruse made a motion that $22,000 in the 1954 Road Program for the Griffith
Road be used for reconstruction on the main road from Quilcene North to Chimacum. Motion
seconded by George Huntingford and concurred in by Lyall Arey. Motion carried.
The members of the Board proceeded to Shine to view the Paradise Bay Estates. Streets
are not completed in that area as yet.

The Board appointed William Anderson to be on the Jei'fer<Jon County ;,dvisory Committee.
A letter was received from Quilcene Grange No. 1109 requesting funds which were
appropriated on the Griffith Road to be appropri.ated to a South Point - Dabob Short Cut
High way. .

A letter was received from the International Union of Operating Engineers requesting
notice for time and place of meeting establishing wage rates in Jeffel'~'on County. No
suc\I meeting is contem;)latEld.
Tho Preliminary Budgets for 1955 were present ed to the Board in the amount of
$122,695.00 for Current Expense, $402,372.10 for County Roads and ;~155,500.00 for Equip-
ment Rental and Revolving Fund.
The Budgets were accepted by the Board and final hearlnes will be held Octoter 4th.
