The detour lease granted to the State of Washington June 6, 1955 for a detour
in Phillips Bayvip.\'l Addition for handline traffic during the replneernent of the bridge
over the railroad track on State High~ay No.9, was Amended and corrected by adding
the following description, Parcel "A", Lots 5 and 6, in Block 5; Lots 5,6,7,8 & 9 in
Block 10; Lots 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, & 16 in Blk 19; Lots 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, & 12 i~ Block 24;
and Lots 1, 2, & 12 in Block 33, all in Phillips Bayview Addition to POlt lownsend as
per plat recorded in Vol. 2 of Plats on page $7, records of Jefferson County.
A request was received for aid to the Jefferson County Humane Society.
Applici1tion of Vi. L. Anderson, Rt. 1, Port 'l'Q',.m.send for County land approved as
follows: Irondale, Lots 5 - 14, Block 19, offered $50.00.
Mrs. Helen Burns, Mrs. Arthur Kirk and Mrs. Gordon Hansen appeared for Chimaeum
Garden Club and requeuted that the section of highway north of Chima cum to the State
Highway be desienated as Rhododendron Lane. The Board agreed with the proposal and
agreed to have signs erected thereon designatine the read.

The Honorable Board met in regular session with all members present.
This being the time for open,iing bids for Asphaltic Conerete, type 1-1 in
place, in amount of 1500 tons, the following was the only bid received:
Washington Asphal t Co., price, $$..30 perton, total amount bid $12,1.50.00.
Upon motion of George Huntingford, seconded by Bertil Kruse, t.he bid of Washington
Asphalt Co., in amount of $12,h50.00 was accepted for this bid.
Mr. Gottlieb Ackerman appeared to discuss building a road to his property. ~~.
Jones, County Engineer will inspeet the situation and report to the Board.
W. J. Daly, County Prosecuting Attorney, discussed the Social Security for County
employees and recommended that $1,700.00 for added to amount am budgeted for 1956 to
take care of retirement and social security, providing it is adopted for the County employees
This to be placed under General Administration.
The lease with the State 1,lJelfare Department for office space in the County Courthollse
has been extended for a period of two years, for the local Welfare Depart.ment.
A request was made of the Board for permission for Jefferson County Fire Protection
Distriet No.1, to use a county water tank truek in case of fire emergency. Berti2. Kruse

exception that one of the County road crew must drive said truek.
Applications were approved for the St~te Liquor Control Board as follows:
Corinne E. Burns and Raymond E. Burns, d/b/a Trail's End TavEf'n, South Point I"erry
Dock, Shine, Washington, Route 1, Chimacum, Washington, for ABC EF license - changing from
Class AB in lieu of D and added Class F.
Lauritz Hansen, d/b/a Hansen Groc~ry, Port Ludlo~, Wash., for i license.
Myrtle Van Dyke, Walter iI. Fuller and Hazel H. Fuller, d/b/a Queets Motel,
Clearwater, Washington, for EF license.
A petition was received August 10, 1955 for vacation by W. B. Cornett. and Venus
Cornett and Geor~e D. Pinneo, for that portion of Ruby St., lyi~g between Stevens St. J
and Montgomery St., and t.hat portion of MrJntgomery St. lying between Marle St. and
Port Townsend Bay, and that portion of Ruby St. lying and being Lot 1 of Block 7, and
Lots 1 and 2 of Block 15, all in the California Subdivlsion of the town of !larrisburg,
Jefferson County, State of ;'la"hincton, as per Plat recorded in t.he !,udit.or"s office,
