Tuesday, September 6, 1955. The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session at 10:00 A. M., with all members present. Minutes of the last regulcu' meetinr; \~ere read ,md approved ,'G read. The costs of repairinE; the Clearwa: er Bridge in amount of $791.7h were paid and receipt received by the County Ene;ineer from the l:JaJ' Citr Lumber Company of Aberdeen, ~lash. Federal Aid allocations for 1957 were announced at ~15,491.00 for Jet'f'er:;on County. Permission was granted for the Oak Bay Boat Club to erect a sign at Oak Bay Park requesting the publi c to help preserve the grounds at the County Park. J. B, Steve appeare''! and requested an easement to lay a lateral to the t.runk sewer line, 425 feet of 6" concrete sewer pipe extpnding from a man-hole 38/20 running east to the entrance at pettygrove St~eet. Permission granted. An open meeting Sept ember] 01.11 by the Charnf5c r of Commerce was announced and the Boord requested /ILl'. George Huntingford to attend said meeting, representing the Board. CapriottiJ 47th &; Grant, Port '1'o'Nnsend, for Tibbals 1st to Port To~msend, Lots 1-8 in Blocks 14,15,lD,17, offered $160.00. Keith Jone s, County Engineer reported on the cons tructi on of the Quilcene bridge and roa d . Referring to Quilcene North Road, the contraet of Joe Surace Company is to be extended to add 6" of ballast to the present contra.ct, at the contract price of ballast. The motion was made by Bertil Kruse, seconded by George Huntingford. Motion carried. The preliminary Budgetfor the Olympic Health District in amount of ~62,837.00, Jefferson County's share being $5,lh6.00 was received by the Board. Dr. Jack Smith from the Olympic Health District appeared and explained the preliminary budget to the Board. Ed Bishop and Dave Bengtson appeared relative to the Ed Bishop Road (Egg and I Road), and considerable time was spent in reviewing the grades and necessary changes to the made in the road. Bills were examined. and approved as follows: Current Expense $ County Roads T. B. Hospital. Soldiers' Relief Treas. 0 & M Fund J.C.Fire Dist #1, 8,299.37 45,627.36 1,210.48 98.10 32.84 308.58 The Preliminary Budgets for 1956 were presented to the Board in the amount of $137,538.00 for Current Expense Fund, $440,997.55 for County Roads and $155,500.00 for Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund. The Budgets were accepted by the Board and fi.nal hearines wi 11 be held Octoher 3rd.
