The Honorable Board of Jeffer~'On County Commissioners met in regular session with all
members present. The bond of Sigurd Swanson, Jeffer son County Tl'eaSUI'er was approved
by the Board.
Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved as read.
A request for a liqCfOI' license was approved for John B. Wike, Hoh Camp, Forks,
\'.'ashington for EF license. A request for liCif'ior license for Becker's Ocean Resort, Inc.,
Ka1aloch, Lodge, Kalaloch, Wash., H. License fflom October 1,1956 to December 31,1956,
was approved.
A notice was received from the U. S. Army Engineers that Washington State Department
of Fisheries made applicution for a dike and tidal gate on the Westerly shore of Dabob
Bay, at Whitney POint, Wash. Ai'plic tion approved. "
A notice was received from the U. S. Army Engineers that the Port of Port lownsend
is to maintain and wharf in Mats Mats Bay. Approved.
A letter was received from Mrs. John R. F1etchel' regarding some necess':lry repairs
on the Upper Hoh Bridge, as piling is crumbling. The Engineer was instructed to make
an inspection end detennine the repairs necessary.
A letter was received from the County Engineer informing the Board the Morrison-
Cecotti contruct on the Griffitp Road North end, was completed September 7, 1956 ahead
of the time specified in thei r contract.
"lestern-General Construction Company was notified by the County Ebgineer that they
will have to keep the Griffith Road open during the winter at thei r expense.
The contract wit.h the Asphalt Paving and Engineering Company was signed by the
members of the Board for the paving on the Quilcene-Center road.

The bond of Doris Peach Hirth, Chief Deputy Treasurer, was approved by the Chairman
of the Board.
The Board members spent the afternoon in considering the Budget for 1957.

The Honorable Board met in regular session at 10:00 A. M., with all flIembers present.
The Final Budgets for 1957 were fixed and approved as follows; upon motion made by
George Huntingford and seconded by Bertil Kruse and unaruhmously carried1 and signed the
Resolution Adopting Same. The Current Expense Budget in the amount of ~136,091.86,
the final Road Budget was fixed in the anount of $457,815.12 and by motion made by
Bertil Kruse, seconded by George Huntingford, the budget was adopted.
The Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund Budget set in the amount of$l75,950.00
was adepted by motion made by George Huntingford and seconded by Bertil Kruse.
The preliminary budgets having been duly filed with the County Auditor on or before
the second Monday in Au~st, 1956, and filed with the Board of County Commissioners on
September 4, 1956, &R~-~leQ-wit&-~he-aeQFQ_ in accordance with the provisions of the
law and due notice having been published in the Port Townsend Leader that on the first Monday
in October, 1.956, the Board of County Commissioners would meet for the purpose above stated, an
and after hearing wi th the various organizations representing taxpayers, and having heard
all matters in connection with the Budget, it was ordered that tax levies be set as follows,
and the following budgets approved:
