The Honorable Hoard of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session with
all membe rs present.
Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved as read. The cash was
cOllnt,ed in the Jefferson County Treasurer's office and t,he Cimount of $596.70 was found
correct. for cash on hand. The Tr'easurer' s report was signed by the Board members
showing cash on hand :~4, 391+.511 on January 2nd, ID57.
Bertil Knlse m.gde a motion that. the ~ yare shovel in the Road Department be turned
in on a new model of the same or better quality. Bids to be called 8S soon as the
Count.y Engi.n eel' can prepare prope l' specifi cations. Motion seconded by George Huntin,Jord.
A rSCjuest was recei ved from Engineer Kei th .Jone s to secure permission to attend th~
Executive Committee of the Hi/11 Ivay Hesearch Board to repI"esent all Counties of the wa.a.J
Nation, throug.~ the National Associatinn of Cr)Unty Officials, from January 7 to 11th. ~-
Permission for his attendance ',va~) 3rant.ed by the Board. No expense to Jeffer-son County. ' ,
A motion was made by George Huntingford, seconded by Bertil Kruse that the County
Engineer be instructed to invest $325,000.00 of rond allotment of the Federal Forest
Funds in short; term Government bonds for 90 days.
The bond for Arthur Sivanson in amount of $10,000.00 for Chief Deputy Treasurer
was approved by Ly~l Arey, Chairman of the Board.
A liquor applic '_'Lion by Becker's Ocean Resort, Inc., for H liquor license from
Januarf 1, 1957 to March 31, 1957 was approved.
