For the purpose of constructing a Federal Aid Project FASO 497 (5) in Jefferson
County for Giles Ranch Section Quilcene-Center Road over and across the SW~ ~l~, the
NW; NW~, the NE~ NW; and the NW; NE; of Sec. 16; the SW;SE;, the SE;SW;, the Ni~SE~, the
NE;SE; and the SE;NE; of Sec. 9; the SW;NW;, the NW;NW; and the NE;W~; of Sec. 10, all
in T. 28 N R 1 W W M., was signed as follows _ .
RESOLUTION NO. C-326

WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as Agent of and
for the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the United States of
America, is desirous of constructing a Federal Aid Projedt, No. FAS-0497 (5) in Jefferson
County, over and across
the SW;NW;, the NW;NW;, the NE~NW~ and the Nwa NE; of Section 16;
the SW;SE;, the SE;SW;. the NW;SE; the NE;SE; and the SE;NE;
of Section 9;the SWtNW;, the NW;NWt and the NE;NW; of section 10;
all in T. 28 N., R. 1 W.,W. M. in Jefferson County,Washington
and
I
WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as Agent for
the United States Bureau of Public Roads, is desirous of receiving Federal Flmds for the
improvement of said road, and
WHEREAS, the said Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the United
States of America will not participate in the construction of said road until a.nd unless
the County of Jefferson will agree to refrain from permitting encroachment upon the right
of way of said above-menti,;ned road, and until and unless the County of Jefferson will
.agree to refrain from passing resolutions affecting the free flow of traffic on said
above-mentioned road or that will give preference to local routes which intersect with said
road, other than by the erection or installation of "slow" and/or "cautionll signs or
signals, or that will unreasonably hinder ordelay traffic on said above-mentioned road,
and until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt
the grades of the improvement as the grades of the cwnty road that is 1n'lol ved, and
agree to protect the State of Nashington against any and all claims for damages on account
of any changes of grades and the construction of this improvemen~, and until and unless
the County of Jefferson will agree to maintain said improvement within the limits of the
~ounty of Jefferson after the improvement as been completed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County
that for and in consideration of the Depar~ent of Highways of the State of Washington and
the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the United Scates of America
constructing said road and routing traffic on same over and across
the SW;NW!, the NWkNWk, the NE~NWk and the NWkNEk of
section 16; the SWiSEi, the SEksWk, the NW;SE~, the
NE;SE; and the SE;NE~ of section 9; the SWtNW!, ..the NW;
NW; and the NE;NW; of section 10; all in T. 28 N.,R. 1 W.,
W. M. in Jefferson County, Washineton. ~
Jefferson County hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the State of Washington
and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the United States of
America that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on the right of way of the
said above-mentioned road, nor will it pass any resolutions affecting the free flow of
traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will give prefHrence to local routes which
intersect with s aid road, other than by the erection or instal lation of u310\'l" and/or
"caution" signs or Signals, or that will slow up, unreasonably hinder, or delay traffJc
on said above-mentioned road, and that it will, by suitable resolution, adopt the grades
of the improvement as the grades of the county road that is involved, and hereby agrees
to prdect the State of Washington against any and all claims for damages on account of
ohanges of grades and the construction of this #Improvement, and herHby further agrees to
maintain saj,d improvement wi thin the 11m1 ts of the County of Jefi'flrson after this iwprove-
men~as been completed.
