At lj30 p.m., a motion was made by George Huntingford, seconded by ~ertil Kruse, that the bid 01' Evergreen Tra! lara fo r a gravel screening plant in amount of $3,743.00 plus sale s tax, $124.76 and $160.00 for motor, totalling, $4,027.76, be accepted. Motion carried. A call for bids for a front end loader is to be made, May 20, 1957, by motion made by George Huntingford, seconded by Bertll Kruse. The Engineer was authorized to purchasea 4 wheel trailer for use on County roads in the amount of $499.00. Motion made by Bertil ~ruse, seconded by George Huntingrord. A notice was gi ven to close the Queets River Bridge on the ClearwaterRoad for a period of seven days beginning May 13, 1957 for the necessity of replacing the forty-five foot long south approach. Resolution No. C-329 was signed for providing funds for acquiring and developing a private road on the north bank of the Hoh River for UiO,ooO.OO as follows: RESOLUTION NO. C-329 A RESOLUTION of the Board of County Commissioners for Jefferson County finding and determinging its intention to acquire either by purchase or condemnation right of way in order to connect and make available to the traveling public a county road or highway between County Road No. 212 and 214, and providing funds for the purpose.' ~mEREAS, it appears to be in the interest of Jefferson County and all the citizens thereof that Jefferson County acquire and develop, as a part of its County Road system, a private road const~lcted and in process of continued construction by Peninsula Plywood Corporation- and Rayonier, Incorporated, in the Hoh Valley of West Jefferson County, between a junction with County Road No. 212 in the SWkNWk of Sec. 22, T. 26, N., R. 13 W., W.M., and the southerly terminus of County Road No. 214 on the northerly township line of I. 26 N., R. 12 W., W. M., and thus link said county roads so as to form a continuous highway on the north bank of the Hoh River between a junction with U. S. 101 in the SWk of Sec. 28: T., 27 N., R. Ii W., \I1.M., and the mouth of the Hoh River in Sec. 19, 'I'. 26 N., R. 13 W., W.M. WHEREAS, through negotiations, the price of such right of way, 100 feet in width, as improved and to be improved, has been tentatively fixed at the sum of $60,000.00, which sum is a reasonable sum to be expended from the County Road Fund for this purpcs e, now the refore, BE IT RESOLVED, that said right of way as herein described be acquired forthwith by Jefferson County, through either purchase or condemnation, and that the County Road Engineer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to proceed in the acquisition thereof.
