The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session at lO~~ A. M., with all
members present.
Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved as read.
A letter was received from the U. S. Department of Agriculture noting that due to
slowing down of logging, the receipts from the Federal Forest Fund will be less for th6
balance of 1957.
A letter was received frvm the U. S. Army Engineers, submitting plans for fcur
bridges requested by the Department of Highways for bri~ng Puget Sound from Seattle to
Bremerton via Vashon Island with a subsidiary connection to Bainbridge Island.
Ronald Wilder, Jefferson County Engineer was appointed Acting Civil Defense Director
for the sole purpose of completing a transaction for a generator at St. John I s Hosp! tal,
through Civil Defense, with matching funds between St. John's Hospital and the State
Ci vil Defense.
Preliminary Budgets were accepted and adopted as follows' the amount of $154,868 .00
for Current Expensej $503,997.32 for County Road Budget, and $175,500.00 for Equipment
Rental and Revolving Fund Budget. Final hearings will be held October 7, 1957,
