The Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session with all members present, at 10:00 A. M. A call for bids was made for a high frequency F. M. Communication system to operate on 150-160 megacycle band, with turn-in of 6 Motorola Mobile units and base transmitter, Monday, January 20th at 11:00 A. M., was the time fixed for opening same. The matter of the ~acation of the street in Quilcene was continued to January 20th at 10:00 A. M. The bid of Herbert ,Ii'. Beck for Lots 1-20 Roseville Additi.on to Quilcene was rejected as the site is to be considered for a gravel pit, and not for sale at the present time. His deposit will be refunded. A call for bids was made for one automobile, 1958 model for the Sheriff's Department. Oar to be a 4 door sedan with minimum of 240 h.p. in accordance with specifications. Trade-in of 1955 Chevrolet 4 door sedan. January 20, 1958 at 11:00 A. M., was fixed for opening bids. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved as read. Bi 1.1s were examined and approved as follows: Current Expense $13,464.63 Soldiers' Relief 150.00 County Roads 30,686.66 T.B. Hospt. 868.00 J.C. Fire Pro.Dist. 123.30 Recess at 4:00 p.m. I Friday, January 10, 1958. Members of the Board met in regular session with all members present. A motion was made by George Huntingford, seconded by BertiJ. Kruse, that a piece of road equipment listed as 1933 Adams Pull Grader, Equipment No. 13, be turned over to the Jefferson County Soil Conservation District for the sum of $1.00. Motion carried. It was decided to invest road funds in the amount ;f $200,000.00 for 90 days in short term Government Bonds. A motion to this effect was mad~ by Bertil Kruse, seconded by George Huntingford, that the County Auditor direct the County Treasurer to make such an investment. The members of the Board proceeded to the County Treasurer's office and counted cash and found the amount of $1,084.94 correct for cash in the office. The Treasurer's report was signed showing the balance on hand December 31, 1957 as $2,075.46. . A motion was made by George Huntingford, seconded by Bertil Kruse that all road employees be granted a raise in the amount of 7~ cents per hour. The employees in the Engineer's off! ce $15.00 per month, with Ronald "1ilder, County Engineer raised in the amount of $25.00 per month, Albert Robinson, $15.00 per month and Wallace Bowman, $15.00 per month. Motion carried. George Huntingford moved, seconded by Bertil Kruse that 1 day per month sick leave be allowed to road employees, to be granted upon presentation of a Doctor's certificate. Campbell's Addition to Quilcene, from the easterly edge of County Road No. 28 (Rogers St.) to the westerly edge of the former Port Townsend Wouthnrn Railway rig.'1t of way, all according to the plat of said Addition recorded in Vol. 2 of Plats, page 107 records of Jefferson County, Washington, no obllections belne; ent':;lred, the I:loard granted the vacation as above, upon motion by Bertfl Kruse, seconded by George Huntin~ford, and Order of Vacation signed as follows: ORDER OF VACATION This matter having come on to be heard this date, upon the petition of Quil.cene Lodge No. 184, F. & A. M., and Quilcene Cafe, Inc., a Washington Corporation, and Richard Brown and Nancy Brown, husband and Idfe, and for an order VACATING: The south thirty feet of the unnamed streot lying betweon block 7 and block 8 of H. W.
