For t.he purpose of receiving Federal Aid Funds for constructinf the road from
Chimacllm to Center, Federal Aid Project FAS-0496l, Resolution No. C-350 was signed as
follows:
RESOLUTION NO. C-350.
WHEREAS the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, a cting as Agent
of and for the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department. of Comme rce of the United States
of America, is desirous of constructing a Federal Aid Pr'oject, No. F.A.S.-0496(l) in
Jefferson County, over end a cross
the NWksEk, the SW~ NEk, the SEk NE~, Lot 1 and Lot 2 of Section 3,
T. 28 N., R. 1 W., W.M.j the SW~SEJ;, the SEksEk, the NE~SEt., and
the SEkNE~ of Section 34, T. 29 N., R. 1 ~1., W.M.j t.he SWkNi'lk and
the NWk NWk of Section 35, T. 29 N., R. 1 W'! W.M.4 tj')e swkswk, the

and
WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the StaLe of \<lashingtol1, acting as Agent
for the United States Bureau of Public Roads, is desirous of recei vi ng Federal. funds for
the .improvement of' said road, and
WHEREAS, t he said Bureau of Public Roads of the Depa rtmen t of Commerce of the
United States of America will not participate in the constructi.-,n of said road until
and unless the County of Jefferson will agree to refrain from permi tting encroachment
upon the right of way of said above-mentioned road, and until and unless the County of
Jefferson will agree to refrain from passing resolutions affecting the free novl of
traffi c on said above-mentl'Jned road or that will give preference to local routes which
intersect with said road, other than by the erection d: installation of "slow" and/or
"caution" signs or signals, or tha t will unreasonably hinder or delay traffic on said
above-mentioned road, and until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree, by suitable
resolution, to adopt the grades of the improvement as the grFides of the county road that
is involved, and agree to protect the State of Washington against any and all claims for
damages on account of any changes of grades and the construction of this improvement,
and unti 1 and unless the County of Jefferson will agree to mai ntai n said improveme nt
within the limits of the County of Jefferson after the improvement has been completedj
NUW, 'IlIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson
County that for and in considerati on of the Departmen t of Highways of the State of
Washington and the Bureau of Public Roe;.ds of. the Department of Commerce of the Uni ted

Jefferson County hereby agrees with t he Department of Highways of the State of Washington
and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the United States of
America that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on the right of way of
the said above-mentioned road, nor will it pass any resolutions affecting the free flow
of traffi.c on sai.d above-mentioned road or that will give pl'ef8rence to local routes
which intersect with said road, other than by the eracti.011 or inst,;11.lfl.tion of "slow"
and/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will slow upo, unrefl.sonably hinder, or delay

hereby agrees to protect the State of Washington agalnst any and all. claims for damages
on account of changes of grades and the construction of this improvement, and hereby
further agrees to maintain said improvement, ;,~_ thi n the limits of the County of .Jefferson
after this improvement has been completed.
