Mrs. Ida Hinton and Mrs. Elaine Lopeman. appeared for the Port tud10w Community
Club with respect to an access road to Basalt Beach. The Boar'd will view the property
and ascertain if there is access to the beach.
Several residents of Nordland appeCired relative to the Robbins-Baldwin road, and
since this was included as a County Road in Resolution No. C-)05 on July 6, 1956, the
Board considers this as a County Road and does not permit the closure of this road.
The County Auditor having presented the canvass of votes on the proposi tion of the
formation of a fire d1 strict in the area cibmprlsi ng the voting preci ncts of Brinnon,
Quilcene, Leland and a portion of Tarboo, held on November 4, 1958, and said vanvaS8
stating the proper major! ty of votes in favor of the proposl tion were recei ved, and
Kenneth M. Brones, Noah Johnston and Maurice A. Thomas having received the highest vote
for Commissione!"s, the members of the Board sie;ned Resolution No. ~-381 deClaring the
district be organized as a fire d1stric!', and known as Jefferson County Fire Protectlon
Dlstrict No.2, as follows:
RESULUTION NO. C-381
'>/HEREAS, on September 5, 1958, upon the petitlon of sundry electors, the Board of
Commissioners of Jefferson County, Washlngton, held a public hearing thereon, to-wit:
on the suestion of the formation of a flre protection district to be known as Jefferson
County Fire Protection District No.2, more particularly described as follows:
Begin: Section corner common to Sections 6 and 7, T. 28 N.,
R 1 W., and sections 1 and 12, T. 28 N., R 2 W, south
on sectlon line for 5 sections, thence east on section
line fo r 3 sections then ce south on section line
for approximately 2} sections to waters of Dabob Bay,
thence sou':.hwester1y by water boundary to 01ymnic
Natlonal Forest Boundary section line between sections
26 and 35, T. 26 N., R 2 W., thence west to section
corner common to secti ons 26, 27, 34, and 35, T. 26 N.,
R 2 W., thence north on section line for.4 sections,
thence west on section line for 1 section, thence north
on section line for 4 sections, thence east on section
11ne for 1 section, thence north on section line for 8
sections, thence east on section line for 2 sections
to point of beginning,
cOmprl.slng the voting precincts of Brinnon, Quilcene, Leland and a portion of Tarboo,
and proof having been made to the satisfaction of this Board that. notlce was given in the
manner p'rovided by law, and no objections having been made or filed, the Board, by Reso-
lution No. C-376 ordered a special election to be held on Tuesday the 4th day of November,
1958, to determine whether the district shall be organlzed, and
WHEREAS, after an e1ectlon called for the purpose in pursuance to the terms of said
Resolution, the County Aud1 tor for Jefferoon County under date of November 14th made and
returned to this Board her canvass of the vote cast at such election, all of which being
now on file wi th this Board is hereby referred to an:! by reference made a part of this
Resolution, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the area he reinbefore descrl bed be and the same is hereby
declared duly organized as a fire protection district; that the same is officially desig-
nated as JEB'FERSON COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO.2, and that Kenneth M. Brones, Noah Joynston
Johnston, and Maurice A. Thomas, having recelved the highest number of votes cast for
fire commissioners of said d1str:l. ct, be and they are hereby declared the duly ele cted
first commissioners of the dlstr!ct.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of thls Board of County Commissioners shall
certlfy a copy of thi s resolO1ion and fi Ie it for record ln the office of the County
Aud1 tor and County Assessor.
