The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commi ssioners me t in regular session with
all members present.
Dalbert L. Leaf, Route 1, Port Townsend, made applicatlon fr Lots 7,$,9,10, block
12 of Harrisburg plat and offered $80.00. Application approved by Board.
It,. K. Merridith appeared regarding a plat known as"2nd Shine Plat", Sec. 33 '1'. 28N,
R 1 E., \'I.M. A motion was made by Lyall llrey, seconded by Bertil Kruse that a stipula-
tion be made by Mr. Merridith to finish the streets - Joan Street in frontof Lots 9,
10, 11, Block 2 and not to sell lots 9, 10, 11 of Block 2 until the street 1s consoocted.
The plat ...as approved by the Board and signed by George Huntingford, Chair'man.
A notlce was received from the Agricultural Extension Service that an Extenslon
office is located at Puyallup effective September 1st, with Mr. HilmHr L. Axling and
Miss Marie Walters in charge.

Mayor Mar1lou Leighton and Mius Edna Avery a!'peared in behalf of the Ci ty of Port
Townsend in regard to the use of the County Jail for the Cit,y of Port To'^,n3end prisoners.
It was agreed that the City of Port '1'o'..msend will pay Jefferson County ~;25. 00 per month
for use of the County Jail, plus prlsoners' board, A contI'a,ct will be dra'.'ffi up by the
Attorneys for the City and County of Jefferson.
Mrs. C. F. Hrrier of Olele Point appeared and discussed the matter of the vacatlon
of a street in 01ele Point Plat. No action taken.

Prellminary Budgets for 1960 for Current Expense Fund in amount of $150,274.90
were presented to the Board, as were preliminary budgets for County Road Fund, $510,948.16
and Equipment Rental and Revolving ~'und $175,500.00. The date for hearing will be
October 5th, when final budgets will be fixed.
