The Board met In regular session with :a11 ,members present.
Major Stanley Kowalkowski appeared requesting a new approach to his property at
Nordland. This will be done if he will pay. for: the culvert. This is a county policy.
Capt. and Mrs. T. G. Guill appeared requesting a rlght of way through Government
Lots to their property between Cape.George 'and 'Beckett. Point. This was taken under
advisement.
Mr. Gerald Hunt and Robert Miller representing UGN appp.ared before the Board request-
ing payroll deductions for donations. The Board gave approval subject to the electlon
of the individual employees.
Due to the rislng cost of transportation, Prosecuting Attorney W. J. Daly informed
the Board that officials of the County cannot drive their cars for official business
aT 7 cents per mile,. and the Board agreed and signed Resolution No. C-408 as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. C-408
BE IT RESOLVED ~y the Board of County Commissioners in regular session assembled
this 11th day of September, 1959, do' hereby order', authorize and direct th.qt effective
January 1, 1960, that all county offlcers when using their own automobiles in the
performance of their'officlal dutles, shall be allowed elght cents per mile for each
mile of necessary travel.
ADOPTED this 11th day of September, 1959.

over certain streets in 01ele Point, being a portion of Government Lot 2, Sec. 28 and a
portion of the N~ of Gov. Lots 1 Sec. 33, T. 29N., R 1 E \'1.M. Publication was had in the
Port Townsend Leador. Mr. Waldo O. Passmore, peti tloner appeared.
Mr. and Mrs. A. '/I. Lopeman appeared and objected to thiD petition. A letter was
recei ved from Mrs. J. E. Schafer also protesting t.ibls peti Uon.
After investigation of the facts offered as to damage that might arise from a well
situated on County property, Lyall Arey made a motion, seconded by Bertil Kruse that the
petition be rejected at this time.
For the purpose of protecting the road near the Quilcene Rilfer, County Road No. 28,
Reaoluuion No. C-409 was signed as follows:
