The county road purpose herein described is HEREBY DECLARED to be a public necessity
and the County Road Engineer is HEREBY ORDERED AND AUTHORIZED TO report and proceed
thereon as rr law provided.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, this purpose bEl performed by da)' labor in accordance with the
Standard Road and Bridge Specifications of the Stat.e of Wasnington as adopted by this
Board.
ADOPTED this 11th day of Sept., 1959.

Mr. Allen Manser of the V. F. W. Post at Hadlock appeared before the Board relative
to acqulring a sl te on \'I'hi ch to locate a building they purchased from Fort ~'jorden for
a meeting place. They are consldering purchaslng a privately owned lot near Hadlock.
A letter was received from the Department of Natural Resources stating the County's
share of brush plcking lease to Ollle Stamper ls $32.00.

The Honorable Board of County Commlssloners met in regular session with all members
present.
Thjs being the time for the hearing on the abandonment of the Huelsdonk Bridge,
the report of County Engineer Ronald Wilder was read, recommending the abandonment of
said road and bridge as the expense to maintain wl11 be great. Petltions were received
from West End residents favoring the County's maintenance. Mr. John Fletcher, Hoh,
appeared and spoke in favor of maintaining road and bridge. Mr. Vlrgil Brandeberry of
Hoh spoke in favor of County's malntenance of road and bridge as he is butldine a home
near there and is in need of access. Mr. Gordon Grayum, Dept. of Natural Resources,
spoke regarding the bridge. He was of the opinion it would cost the State a gr~at sum of
money to take gravel from the river for thelr roads for timber removal lf the bridge is
abandoned.
A motlon was made by Lyall Arey, seconded by Bertil Kruse that the road and bridge
be not abandoned at this time, as the bridge in in fairly good condltion, and that sald
bridge be maintained for car travel only.
Mrs. Lee C. Davls appeared relative to cement posts given the City by the State
Highway Department, which will be used for protectlon around the City entrance sign at
Whi tnall:k' scorner. Engi.neer Wilder will mark locc.tions for posts and asslst in moving
them to the si te.
Mr. Carl Minor and M. G. Oldfield from the State Highway Dept. appeared ln regard
to setting up a test road for hauling logs or log products on 3 axle truck tractor
in combination with a 2 axle pole traHer with gross load of 80,000#. Any damage to
roads will be paid by haulers and charges will be made for overloads to State Motor
Vehicle Fund. The Clearwaterl/.iver Road is under conslderation for such a tHSt road.
No further buslnesB appearing, the meetln(; was ad,journed to meet, in regular session
Monday, October 5th.
