Monday, January 4, 1960.
The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session lath all
members present. '
The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved as read.
Mr. Gerald Hunt, representing Crown Zellerbach Corporation made a request for per-
mission for the Company to install a 48" drainage outfall from the southerly tip of the
mill lagoon running easterly down H Street to tidewater, a distance of 300 to 400 feet
in Crown Zellerbach property. Tae request was granted on motion of Lyall Arey, seconded
by Bertil Kruse.
Mrs. Wm. Ingrum of Hadlock appeared requesting the opening of Laurel Street at the
Green Spot. No action taken at this time. ,
This being the time set for hearing on the abandonment of certain roads in the
Anderson Lak~ district, Government Lot 4 - SE~of SE~ Sec. 8 T. 29 N., R 1 W., W. MOl
except eXist,ing Primary State Highway No.9. No objections havIng been received, Lyall
Arey made a motion, seconded by Bertil Kruse that these roads be vacated. Engineer
Ronald Wilder's report was filed, favorable to abandonment. The Board signed the Order
of Vacation as follows:

This matter came on to be heard this day upon the report of the County Road Engineer
as directed by Resolution No. C-414, wherein this Board of County Commissioners heretofore
declared its intention to abandon all county roads and public roads within Government Lot
4 and the SE~ of the SE~ of Section 8, T. 29 N., R 1 W., i'l. M., except the existing
primary state highway no. 9, and the proposed new Anderson Lake county road No. 22-5.45,
the vacation of the existing Anderson Lake road to take effect and be in force upon the
completion and acceptance of the ~ew proposed Anderson Lake road,
AND it appearing that notice of hearir~ on proposed abandonment was posted and pub-
lished for the time and in the manner provided by law, and no evidence having been offered
in opposition to such proposed vacat.ion and ab'andonment, a.'ld the report of the County Road
Engineer having been considered in deta'll, this Beard now finds that such roads are not
useful and the public will be benefitted by the vacation. Now theref,or.e,
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that all county roads and public roads within Goverr~ent Lot 4
and the SE4 of the SEk of section S, T. 29N., R. 1 W., W. M. excepting the existing primary
state highway no. 9 and the proposed new Anderson Lake county road no. 22~5.45, be and the
same are hereby vacated.
PROVIDED HOWEVER, that the vacation of that portion of the e~i.sting Anderson Lake
road shall not b;acrnce final until the proposed ntlW Ande~"'ilon Lake county l'oad has baen
comple ted and faccepted by the county, at which time this order shall become self-executing.

This being the time set for hearing' on the vacation of that portion of Linco~n St.
in plat of "portaga Bay Park", extending from the northerly line of Cedar Lane to GovGrn~
mant meander line, all in Sec. 1 '1'.29 N., R 1. i'i. W. M. 1>11'8. Jessie K. Snyder appeared
in behalf of vacation of same. Mr. Harold Brown entered a formal protest against the
vacation. Lyall Arey, made ~ motion, seconded by Bertil Kruse that the petition for
vacation be denied at tliis time in view of the 'protest entex'ed by'Mr. B1"o~m. .
A letter was received from the Department of Natural ResouTcoS. stating that the
County's share of money received from rental of grazing lease on Lots 3 and 4, Sec. 31,
Twp. 28 N., R 1 W., for Lee Martin, will be $16.00.
Mr. Si Brainard and Mr. G10n G. Elsasser appeared relative to the P. U. D. water syBtem
at Mats Mats. The County has no part in this project. .!

This being the time for opening bids on a high-frequency F. M. Communication system
to operate on 152.174 magacyclo band, the bid of Motorola was received as follows:

Upon motion made by Lyall Arey, seconded by Bertil Krus&t tho bid was accep~~d in
amount of $3,827.45 plus sales tax of .224.62, totalling $4,0,2.07.
A petition for vacation for abandoned old County Road in Sec. J./T 29 N., n 2 E. W.M. ,:
was filed by Eugene Forent with hearing set for Fopruary 1, 1960 at 10:00 A. M. This was'
signed by A. L. Johnaon, C. W. Gunetono and Viva Gunstone.
For t.he replacement of .\xel Swanson aa Memorial !i'bld caretaker, who wlll retire on
Fabruary 1, 1960{ John U. Petoreon was appointed oaretaker - upon motion of Lyall Aroy,
seconded by Berti, Kruse effective February 1, 1960.
