C-460 COUNTY ROAD PROJECT NO. 216 BEFCllE THE BOARD OF JEFFERSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, STATE OF WASHINGTON In the matter of County Roads No. 10-3.48 and 10.).81 ) Resolution to improve by grading and ballasting I IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BOARDOF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS that it is their intention to improve 0.5 mile of Olympus Boulevard by grading and ballasting and 0.3 mile of Verner Ave. by draining, grading and ballasting; both at Mats Mats Bay BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED ~T for the foregoing proper county road purpose there is hereby appropriated sums in the following detail: Gas Tax Funds Donations Other Total Loc. The county road purpose herein described is HEREBY DECLARED TO be a public necessity and the County Road Engineer is HEREBY ORDERED AND AUTHORIZED to report and provoed thereon as by law provided. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this purpose be performed by day labor in accordance with the Standard Road and Bridge Specifications of the State of Washington as adopted by tl.~s Board. EADS County Auditor and Ex-officio Clerk of the Board. The Board members proceeded to Gardiner to meet with Howard Dent relative to the parking area near the Gardiner boat ramp. . Monday, February 20, 1961. The Honorable Board of Jefferson County met in regular session with all members present. ' A hearing was held in regard to the work of the County Agent in this County. Mrs. Wally Taylor and. Mrs. Josephine Magee reported that the 4-H Club work has fallen off in this County. At present there are no 4-H Clubs in Quilcene or Brinnon. Mrs. John Boulton of Leland reported that Mrs. Boulton has just stated a new 4-H Club in Leland. No complaints fromMr. Boulton. Mr. Arthur Kirk expressed the opinion of poultry raisers that they have received good help from County Agent McMinn. Mrs. Lee Davis reported she has received good cooperation in Port Townsend in connection with 4-H Clubs. ': Mr. Wallace Norton of. Gardiner requested the Commissioners investigate this matter~ Mr. E. M. Snyder of Chimacum, H. G. Brown of Center and Mr. Powell of Center I, expressed co-operation with Mr. McMinn. i! Letters were read from Quilcene Grange #1109 and Rhododendron Grange at Gardiner ,: No. 1137. Mr. Ed McMinn reported on his work with the 4-H clubs :i.n tho County. Mr. , Gus Erickson reported that. more activity is necessary in 4-H clubs. Letters commending: Mr. McMinn were read from Paul W. Thiele, Secretary of P. T. Chamber of Commerce: ;1 Gael R. Stuart, Pres. Chamber of Commerce, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Snyder, E. R. May, Acting!: Chairman of Retail Trade Committee, Mrs. WilsonGill, Arthur R. Kirk, Douglas McConaghy,' Secretary of the Jefferson County D. H. 1. A.' Mr. Hilmer L. Axling, Extension Supervisor represented the State University at Pullman and spoke on the problems of County Agents, and suggested that an advisory i group of county resident/! meet with the Agent periodically and di scuss County problems.:; The Board agreed to consider the matter of hiring a Home Demonstration Agent for the County, and if w:l,thin financial ability, the matter will be considered when the 1962 r Budget is mad3. A notice was received that an application has been filed for transfer of CDE liquor 1 icense from Corinne El1z&beth Burns and Raymond Earl Burns to Chester E. StrAlld and ii Pearl Strand, d/b/a Trails' End Tavern, South Point Ferry Dock, Route l, ChimacuM. I! Proposed regulat1ions were received for the Hood Canal Bridge for vessels not able :: to pass beneath the fixed navigation opening of the bridge.
