The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners mat in regular session, wi th
all members presen~. '
This being the time fixed for hearing on the petition for the formation of Public
Hospital ~strict No.2, several residents spoke in favor of the plan. Mr. Kenneth
Wilson, Edwin Udd, Earl Tice, Marilou Green, Charles Yoelke, Frank Erb expressed their
opinions in the matter. After hearing the evidence the Board determined that, the .
formation of a D[strict is in conformance with the Statutes, and Commissioner Lyall Arey
made a mo~on, seconc!.ed by George Hunting ford" that; a special election be called for
the purpose of determinilllg the wish of the electors for or against the formation. The
date will be fixed as soon as possible.
Notices were received from the Department of Natural Resources that the County's
share of money received form Tideland Oil and Gas Corporation for rental in Sees. 21, 30,
31, 32, 33, Twp. 28 N., R 1 W.~ will be $l76.00, and from Lee Martin for rental on grazing
lease, Twp. 28N.. R I Y., $39.~0.

A proposal was received from Bas5 Constructioi'l. Company to 00 additional \\Ork on
the Anderson Lake Road - Item No. 3 - Common Excavation, 10,000 cu. yds. @ .30 cents
Item No. 5 - Overhaul, 1,000 Units @ 40 cents. .
This additional work was approved by the Board members and the County Engineer, and also
approved by General Insurance Company of America, the surety on the bond. .
Mr. Joseph R. Hillaire from Seattle appeared relative to Indians at Queets. The
Queets Indian Village is in need of assistance for water supply, sewage, electrification
and housing. A letter will be \'lrltten to the Quinault Business Committee asking assist-
ance for the Indian Village.
An application for sale of Real Estate was approved for:
Mrs. Samuel Burns, Star Route 1, Port Townsend, Wash., for Irondale, Lots 3 &: 4,
Block 56, offered $20.00.

No. ~, the members of the Board signed the Order fixing the boundaries of the Distri~t and
Fixing the time of the election, Tuesday, Aug. 15, 1961, as follows:

The petition of sundry citizens and voters of Jefferson County. Washington, praying
that the Board of County Commissioners for Jefferson County, Washington, proceed toward
the formation of a Public Hospital District cc~?rising the following doscribed area,
to-wi t:
All that portion of Jefferson County,
Washington, lying within Ranges 1, 2
and 3 Vest and Range 1 East of the
1[llamette Meridian,
came on for hea.ring on Monday, June 5th, 1961, at the hour of ten o'clock PDLST in the
forenoon of said day at the Commissioners' Room in the Courthouse, Fort Townsend, Jefferson
County, Yashingtonl pursuant to notice (proof of which notice is attached hereto and
made a part hereof/! and no objectiQn, or objections, having been made or filed against
the propoaed format on, it is hereby
