An assignment of oil and gas lease given-to Bom~' DrlIH ng-COrp oration for ~Nw~ '
Sec. 34, T. 28 N 'It 1 V. W. M., was signed by the Board members. These lands were given to
the State in exchange for other State lands.
A resignation was received from Don DeForest, Civil Defense Director, and accepted,
upon motion made by George Huntingford seconded oy Lyall Arey.
The County Treasurer presented a hst of County Property to be included in the
next County Land Sale, property in Chalmers 1st - Irondale, Glenwood Add. to Port Townsend,
NENENE, S~NENE, lIb.NE, NESE, BlSE, Tax No. j, Bayyile.. to Hadlock, Columbia Park Add. to
Port'l'ownsend, Ingersoll's Add. to Port Townsond. The Board approved the inclusion of tbis
property in tne land sale, and signed an Order to Sell Property on September 29th, 1961.'
A notice ~.,as received from the State Higjlway Dept. that all that portion of old P.S.H.
No. 9.l.,outside of the ~~hts of way requirements for the new location of i S.H. No.9 in!
the Sw;, S13, and tbe ~, T. 26N R 2 Y., W. M. has been turned back to the County as !
being no longer necessary to the State Highway system (near Jackson Cove).
A lease was signed by the Board members for two rooms in the Courthouse for the use :
of the State Dept. of Public Assistance at $100.00 per month for one year from October 1,
1961 to September 30, 1962, including heat, light, Wlter and janitor service.
A letter from the North Olympic Chamber of Commerce urging the Board to improve and
adequately post the old Shine Road from the New Hood Canal Bridge cut-off to the Port
Ludlow Road, was re cei ve d and consi derc d.
William Henry Jackson was appointed as Jefferson COl!nty Civil Defense Director.

Tho Honorable Board of County Commissioners met with all members present.
The 1962 Preliminary Budget was presented to the Board in the amount of $1$2,Ol5.92.
This will be considered at the September meeting.;
Application for Sale of County land was approved for Frank J. Hensel, 12054 l4th N.E.,
Seattle, for the following land in Irondale, Hastings 3rd, Broadway, Fowler's Park, Cherry
Park, Eisenbeis and Dundee Additions - offered $2,210.00. ' ..
Application for Sale of County land was approged for Robert L. Ammeter and Elizabeth
Ammeter for Port ownsend, O. T., Lots 1 and 2, Block 11, offered $325.00.

IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY Ccn.mISSIONERS that it is their intention
to reconstruct the seventy-five foot northerly approach to the Queets River Bridge on
the Clearwater Road

appropriated sums in the following detail:
