The Honorable Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with all members
present.
A request was previously made by the Quilc0ne Post #3213, Veterans of Foreign Yars,
for .3.600,00 from the Sailors' and Soldiers' Fund, which represents its rental allowance
for the next twenty yuZ's, forbullding its own meeting hall. Mr. 1f. J. Daly, Prosecuting
Attorney, made a request from the Attorney General for a ruling on the matter, and was
advised that Sec. 1 Chapter 6l~, Laws of 1909 as last amended by Sec. 8 Chapter 144,
Laws of 1945 (Sec. i0743 Rem. Rev. Statutes, Sec. 932-31 PPC) grants only $180.00 per
year for rental and this request cannot be granted.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved as read.
Bids were opened for County printing for the year commencing July 1 1962 to June 30,
19631 and awarded to the Leader Company at $2.40 per 100 words for the fIrst insertion,
and ,1.80 per 100 words for subsequent printings of same notice set in 6 point type; for
notices set solid. For matter not set solid, 31.00 per column inch for 1st insertion and
90 cents for subsequent insertions of same notice.

A noti ce was received from the Washington State Li quor Control Board that Class E
licens0 application for Stillman Charles Brown, Discovery Bay Market &. Cafe, Rt. 2,
Port Townsend, was disapproved on account of restaurant, groc:lre-rs and gasoline sales in
conne ction with the business.

The Honorable Board of County Commissioners met in regular session ~his date with
all members present. ,
Upon motion made by Lyall Arey, seconded by George Huntingford, the County Engineer,
was inS1jructed to secure the necessary right of way from F. C. Baldwin, for the future
constNction of a road in th e Nordland vi cinity.
For the purpose of creating an emergency for renovating the interior of the Courthouse,
and construction of rest rooms and other facilities at North Beach Park, September 4th .
at 10:00 A. M., was set for hearing, and Resolution No. C-508 was signed as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. C-508
1fHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of the off'! cial bUdget for the Current Expense
Fund for the fiscal year 1962, the needs and essentials of the county as hereit:lafter set
forth were not foreseen, or could not reasonably ha'l/'e been foreseen, and a public emergency
is now found and deolared to exist requiring the expenditure of money not pr8vi ded for in.
sa! d budget, as follows:
Item...! - fur the preservation and repair of the in'terior of the courthouse building,
an estimated $6,000.00 is required to meet what is necessary to be done;
Item 2 - for the construction of rest rooms and other facilities at the North Beadb
Park an estimated $1 000.00 is required to meet what is necessary to be done;
Now therefore, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing hereon will be held at
the Commissioners' Room in the Jefferson County Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washingtonl on
Tuesday, the 4th day of September, 1962, at the hour of ten 0' clock in the forenoon 01"
said day, at which any taxpayer may appeal~ and bo heard for or against the expenditure 01
money for the allegod emergencies.
ADOPTED this 10th day of August, 1962.
