I A letter was received from the Brinnon Booster Club advising the Board that property for a garbage dump at Brinnon is available from the Scott Paper Company. Upon motion made by George Huntingford, seconded by Lyall Arey, the County Engineer, Edwin Becker was given authority to negotiate with the Scott Paper Company for a suitable location for a garbage dump in the Brinnon area. A letter was received from the American Legion, Port Townsend Post #26 informing th~ Board that the following officers were ale cted to serve for the year 19~2-63 and their signatures will appear on vouchers for relief on the Soldiers' and Sailors' Fund, Alan E. Dodge, Arthur L. Tickner and Charles E. Gregory. Recess at 4:00 p.m. I Friday, September 7, 1962 The members of the Board of County Commissioners for Jefferson County met in regular session at this time. Mr. J. O. Johnson, Engineer appeared and presented the plat of Tala Shores, near Paradise Bay. The Board having examined the same and the Engineer having approved it, the Plat was approved by the Board. Mr. GLENN M. Canaday appeared relative to the Plat of Snow Creek Ranch. This having been examined by the Board members and approved by the County Engineer, the Plat was approved by the Board. ' Mr. J. E. Champers of the State Highway Dept. appeared with plans for Secondary State Highway No. 9-#, Brown's Lake to South Point Road. RESOLUTION NO. 0-513 LIMITED ACCESS HIGHWAY I WHEREAS a proposed plan of access control has been prepaired in accordance with the instructions of the Washington State Highway Commission for a portion of Secondary State Highway No. 9-E, Browns Lake to South Point Roadj and WHEREAS a portion or all of the proposed highway improvement lies within the County of Jefferson: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, in accordance with the provision of RCW 47.52.020, that the County of Jefferson, acting by and through its Board of County Commissioners, does hereby consent to the establishment of limited access on the following described portion of Secondary St~te Highway No. 9-E, in JEFFERSON COUNTY: Between Highway Engineer's station 16$+26.61 on the west line of the Northwest Quarter, Section $, To~mship 28 North, Range 1 ~est, ;V. M. and Highway Engineer's station 251+00 in the Northwest Quarter, Section 16, Township 28 North, Rnage 1 Vest, ,W. I Monday, September 17, 1962 The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commdssionera met in regular session with all member.s present. Mr. Norman Houck appeared and reported to the Board that he had not received the same amount of money for right of way as others in the neighborhood for proposed County road ' in the Uncas vicinity. This will be checked with the County Engineer. Engineer Becker explained the method of fixing values and Mr. Houck was satisfied. A letter was received from the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture showing that the final figure on Federal Forest Funds for this County will be $391,804.08, for 1963. A liquor license was issued to Gladys Patr1'd:i:a DeVere d/b/a Nordland Trading Co., Nordland - E license. Mr. Harry A. Cotton appeared with the Plat of Ocean Grove No.3. Upon motion made by Lyall Arey, seconded by George Huntingford, the Plat was accepted by the Board. For the purpose of acquiring land for a garbage dump in the Brinnon area, Resolution No. C-5l4 was signed appropriating $500.,00 for a suitable location, from the Scott Paper Co., the owners of the land available for the purpose. I RESOLUTION NO. C-514 WHEREAS for sever~l years last past the location of a suitable site for a garbage dump for the Brinnon area has been the business of this Board of County Commissioner and without success, and W1mREAS ~t now appears thai the Scott PAPER Company has land available for tho purpose indicated and are ready,n~llinf to convey the same to Jefferson County, but inasmuch as no provision had been made n tho budget for the Current Expens~ Fund foT' the year 1962, to acquire land for the purpose (aa none then appeared available), a public emergency is now found and declared to exist requiring tho appropriation of the sum of $500.00 for such land acquisition, therefore, '~ BE IT RESOLVED that the County Auditor be and she is hereby authorized and empowere1 . ., II
