The Board of Jefferson County Commission~r5 wet in regular session with all members
present.
Mrs. Doris Beck appeared relative to a light at the Youth Center, Quilcene. Upon
motion made by George Hungtiqtord, seconded by Walter Kelly, to check with the Puget
Sound Power and Light Company in regard to the matter. .
A call fbr bids was made tor one front end wheel-type tractor loader. Bids to be
opened 11:00 A. M., February lS, 1963.
This being the time Bet tor continuation of the hearing tor vacation of the County
Road No. 2-0.14 at Nordland, a letter was received from ~win A. Becker, Jefferson County
Road Engineer submitting his revised opinion that this road should be retained in the
County road system as the State owns a 20' wide strip across the tidelands. No one
appeared to voice an objection, and upon motion made by George Huntingford, seconded by
Walter Kelly, this road will not be vacated by the Board.
The Minutes ot the last regular session were read and approved as read.
Reporta were received from the Department of Natural Resources stating that the
County's share of rental due on brush picking lease from Ollie Stamper will be $56.00;
from Erving Johnson aale of timber, 01336.80 and from Pope and Talbot for sale of
timber 3481.S4.

Friday, February 8, 1963.
The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session ~dth
all members present.
Mr. Jack Hensel appeared relative to opening streets in the Irondale Plat. This
matter was taken under consideration by the Board.
Mrs. Doris Beck and Mrs. Elva Horne appeared relative to having summer swimming
instruction at Quilcene Bay. A program will be presented to the School Board at ~ilcene
by residents of that area to ascertain if it can be arranged under the School Board's
jurisdiction.
A resignation was received from Melvin E. Goode from the Jefferson County Fire
District No.2, due to ill health. Maurice L. Anderson of Quilcene was appointed to
fill the vacancy by motion made by George Huntingford, seconded by Walter A. Kelly.
Mr. Hugh G. Goldsmith, Charles Jennings and S. H. Braise appeared relative to the
Plat of Olympic Canal Addition No. I Plat. Notice was given for a public hearing at this
time. Notices were posted on the property as required by law. No one appearing to object,
a motion was made by George Huntingtord, seconded by Walter Kelly, that the Board give
their pennission to the platting of this property. Motion carried. It was agreed that
roads in the East side of the Plat must be completed before the plat will be accepted.
The Board members proceeded with the County Engineer to check on road work in the County.

The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session with all
members present.
Mrs. Matilda M. Cartwright and Mrs. Ila V. Myers appeared and presented a petition for
tho formation of a Water District in Paradise View Estates, Lots ^ to K, and 1-14. This
was continued to March 4, 1963 for the report of the County Auditor.
~'5. Ward Williams and Mrs. Laurie Raphael appeared, representing the Jefferson County
Fair Association. Mrs. Ra~hael is the new Treae~Mgr. The Board will inspect the Fair
Grounds with Mrs. Raphael on March 4th att 2:00 P.M.
Mrs. Doris Beck~ l~s. Elva Horne and Mr. Ed Stemen appeared relative to summer swimminS
at Quilcene 8ay. rhis matter will be handled through tho Quilcene School Distriot.
Mrs. Elmor Renskers and Mr. Eugene Forast appeared relative to a V.F. W. Building at
Quilcene. Mr. Forest and Prosecuting Attornoy W. J. Daly will ascertain the County's
legal authority in the matter.
