William J. Daly, Prosecuting Attorney, appeared and requested additional funds for II
his secretary for 1964, due to the press of business in non-support of minor children :
cases. Upon motion of W~.!4!r A. K~u.1Z't'lm~c~ded by George Huntingford, a motion was II

WHEREAS, the demands upon the office of the Prosecuting Attorney for Jefferson Cou~ty
for the prosecution of non-support of minor children cases in the criminal courts, and 1,
the responsibilities and attention z'equired under the Uniform Reciprocal Enforcement AC~
have become more and more onerous, and can only be properly attended to by constant II
supervision, and the maintenance of a strict "tickler" system, and to sustain the high I
standard of service heretofore offered by Jefferson County to the public in all of its Ij
departments, elected or appointed, it appears necessary in order to accomplish the Ii
objective that further and additional duties, consonant herew1.th, be imposed upon the Ii
present Secretary for the Prosecuting Attorney, so that she become in truth and in fact!
a Domestic Relations Proctor, and that she be paid an additional sum monthly commensurat~'
\'lith tJ:1e new responsibilities and obligations, nO\-I therefore, Ii
BE IT RESOLVED and an emergency is hereby found and declared to exist requiring th~!
appropriation of money during the calendar year 1964 for the purposes aforesaid, ii

and the necessity therefor could not, with reasonable certainty, have been foreseen at 11'1
the time of the adopt1.on of the official budget for the Current Expense Fund for the Ii
year 1964, and the same being one to meet mandatory expenditures required by law and thel
efficient operation of county government, this resolution shall become effective !I
February 15, 1964, and the County Auditor be and she is hereby authorized and empowered!
to draw emergency warrants upon the Current Expense Fund of this county in amounts not
exceed:tng the foregoing appropriation.
