The membel's of the Board proceeded to Adelma Beach to view the work being done on the road under construction. Engineer Becker accompanied the Board members. Re~ess at 4:00 p.ml Monday, March 16, 1964. I The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session this date with all members present. In the matter of providing an elevator for the Jefferson County Courthouse, the m'3ll'1bere of the Board are desirous of securing counsel to draw ul> proceedings necessary for the liU thodzati on, issuance and sale of bonds in anount of '40,000.00 to protide funds necessary for the installation of .said elevator. Resolution No. C-582 as prepared by the law firm of Preston, Thorgrimson, Horowitz, Starin and Ellis, was presented and read, and thereafter following discussion, was unanimously adopted. The Board then considered Resolution No. C-583 providing for a special election to be held in conjuncti on with the Primary el ection on September 15, 1964, and the same was unanimously adopted. RESOLUTION NO. C-582 I . A RESOLUTION of the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, Washington, retaining counsel for certain services in connection with the authorization, issuance and sale of un- 11mi ted tax levy general obligation bonds of the County in the principal amount of $40,000. WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and advisable that Jefferson County install an elevator in the County Courthouse located in Port Townsend, Washington, and to provide funds to pay the oost thereof, issue and sell its unlimited tax levy general obligation bonds in the principal sum of $40,000; and . ~rnEREAS, the Constitution and statutes of the State of Washington require that the question of whether or not such bonds may be issued for such purpose nust be approved by the qualif.!.ed electors of the County; and 'l'lHEREAS, it is further deemed necessary and advisable that bond counsel experienced in such matters be retained to draw the resolutions, notices and other documents necessary for the authorization, issuance and sale of said bonds and to give their opinion as to the validity thereof at the time of their sale; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, Washington, as follows: That Preston, Thorgrimson, Horowitz, Starin &. Ellis, attorneys at law of Seattle, \Yash ing ton , be and they are hereby retained to perform the services above set forth, and as compensation therefor .Jefferson County ~grees to pay them the sum of Four Hundred Dollars. In addition thereto the County agrees to reimburse said counsel for any out- of-pocket expenses, such as long distance telephone tolls, \'bich they may incur in the performance of said services; and the County also agrees to furnish said counsel at their office in Seattle, Washington, with a complete certified transcript of all pro- . ceedings taken in the Illb.tter of the issuance of said bonds. In the event the proposition authorizing the issuance of said bonds for such purpose fails to carry, the County agrees to pay said oounsel the sum of One Hundred Dollars, which shall be compensation in .ful1 for all services rendered to the date of such election (plus any out-of-pocket expenses which ma.y have been incurred by said counsel to said election date).
