The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session with all
members present.
Mrs, Lee C. Davis appeared in behalf of the County Museum requesting $1600.00 to be
placed in the 1965 Budget for the Museum and the Library - $800.00 each.
This Qaing the time set for opening bids on the Thorndyke Bay Road, the County
Engineer's estimate was filed in amount of $15,594.00 ~tb engineering, ~~~~~
Bids were received as follows:

J. P. Surace Construction Co., Seattle, Wash.
Excavators, Inc., Kenmore, Wash.
Bel1evue Bulldozing, Bellevue, Wash.
Select Contractors, Inc., Seattle, Wash.

After considering the bids carefUlly, George Huntingford made a motion, seconded
by Walter A. Kelly to accept the low bid of Select Contractors, Inc., in amount of
$12,150.00
Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved as read.
Mrs. Dorothy Youngberg and Mrs. l-1arj orie Brown appeared requesting work on a short
piece 0 f road at Pleasant Harbor. Grading and oiling wi 11 be done in the immediate
future~
Mr. Ed McMinn appeared explaining the preliminary Budget he is presenting to the
State Department.
This matter having been continued from June 15th for hearing, Mr. Walter Bishop
appeared relative to the operation of a dance Hall at Chimacum Corners. The members of the
Board contacted residents in that vicinity and were metwl.th opposition in the matter.
This matter was continued to July 20, 1964.
This being the time set for hearing, ~w. Hugh Goldsmith of Goldsmith, Associates,
appeared relative to the Plat of Olympic Canal Division VII. No objections having been "
received, a motion made by Walter A. t\e11y, seconded by George Huntingford, that this plat
be accepted.
Notices were received from the Department of Natural Resources stating the County's
share of money received will be as follows:
Harry F. Olson road use permit App. No. 29704, $20.00.011ie Stamper, rental on
brush lease No. 55795 - $40.00. Gus Wyckoff, brush least #57461 - $17.60.
Renewals on liquor lice"ses were approved as follows:
Wilbert M. Gainer, d/b/a Gainers' Grocery, Box 78, Port Ludlow, EF.
Chester Isaac Northup, et ux, d/b/a Discovery Bay Tavern, Star Route 2, Lots 3
and 4, Port Townsend BEF

The application of Chester E. Strand and Pearl Strand, d/b/a Trails' End Tavern,
South point ferry oock, Route 1, Chimacum, approved for CDE li cense but disapproved
application of Class AIB' in lieu of Class D License. ,
Mr. Hall and Mr White, two representatives of Addressograph-Mu1tigraph Corporation,
spent some time before the Board members exp1aingini the electronic machines for comput-
ing taxes, payrOll, etc.
Bills were examined and approved as follows:

The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular Dession with all
membars present.
The lease renewal fbr space used by the StQto Department of Public Assistance was
signed by the Board members for $100.00 per month from October 1, 1961+ to September 30,
1965.
Mr. John Hieber and Mr. Yeager Bush appeared wi th the plat of Division I, Bridgchavliln.
Percolation tests by the Olympic Health District were favorable and no objections were .
entered for filing the plat. Upon motion by George Huntingford, seconded by ~iul tel' A. I
Kelly, the Plat of' Bridgehaven, Divison HI, was accepted. .
The members of the Board proceeded to the Treasurer's office lJl1d lDunted cash and fo~nd
the amount of $1,719.88 to be correct fur cash on hand. The Treasurer's report was sign d.
Tho members of the Board proceed to t,he Assessor's office to meet. again as the Boar
of Equalization. "

Nordlund road. The East Boach Park Road intersection \dth the Nordlund Houd. The mambe IS
of the Board assured Mr. Ohanning the corner will be widened.
