The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in reGUlar session with
all memba rs present.
A delegation of Irondale residents appeared requef:lting a four way stop sign and
i. reduced speed limits on the main street at Irondale at Coulterls corner. This Was
received favorably and will be taken care of by the En!,ti.neer's department. Motion by
George Huntingford, seconded by Walter Kelly to post 25 mile Per hour speed limit signs
from the Shell Station on the Chimacum hi[jJway through IrondaJ.e to Hadlock.
An application for liquor license was received for Arnold Bernhardt Jacobson, d.b.a
Arne'S, P. O. Box 25$, Quilcene - H License. Application approved.
A resignation was received from Edgar F. McMinn, County Extension Agent, as he is
leaving to accept a position in San Juan County, at Friday Harbor.

, share of money received from Ollie Stamper for rental on brush lease II 54145 \-.rill be

This being the time set for hearing on the plat of Olympic Canal Division 118, the
members of the Board agreed to allO\'I the flrm of Goldsmith, Associates to plat the "
property with certaim restrictions. Mr. Hugh Goldsmith appeared. Lots 5,0,7 Will be I
divided into tv.o lots 5 and 7 eliminating Lot 6 completely. A motion \-IllS made by Wal tel' ..
Kelly, seconded by Lyall Arey to accept the plat, as corrected. :i

In the matter of providing an elevator for the Jefferson County Courthouse, the
proposi tion having been placed on the Primary ele ction ballot on september 15th, 1964,
and having been defeated by ~t s e~ring the required majority of favorable vo~es, th e Ii
members of the Board are agcun des~rous of securing counsel to draW up proaeec"un~s neces-i1
sary for the authorization, issuance and sale of bonds in the amount of $30,000.00 to !.
provide funds necessary for the installation of said elevator.

A RESOLU'l'ION of the Board of County CommiSsioners
of Jefferson County, Washington I retaining counsel
for certain services in Connection with the
auLhorization, issuance and sale of unlimi ted
tax levy general obligation bonds of the County in
the principal amount of $30,000.00.
i'lHEREAS, on March 16, 1964, this Board adopted its Resolution No. C-582" retaining
Preston, Thorgrimson, Horo\dtz, Starin & Ellis, bond counsel of Seattle, Washlngton, to
. draw all documents necessary for a proposition to be submitted to the quali fled electors I
of the County at a special election to be held therein on September 15. 1964, of whether
or not the County should issue its unlimi ted tax levy eenerd obligation bonds in the
principal sum of $40,000 to install an elevator in the County Courthousej and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. C-582 fiXed the fee of said bond counsel at the sum of
! $400 for drawing o.H proceedings necessary for the authorizution in5UD.nce and Sale of
said bonds and for gi vine their opinion as to the validi ty there~f ut, the time of their
sale, and further provided that said counsel would be paid the sum of $100 on1:,', for the
services rendered to the date of the election, if said proposition \-IUS not apprOved by
the qual i f'ied electors of the County j and
':IHEREAS, said proposition was not approved by the qualified electors of the County
at said special election and said bond counsel did ~)erform the services required of them
so that there is now due and owing than the sum of ~100 by the Countyj and
WHEREAS, this Board has decided to aeain submit 11 proposition to the qualified eloctor's
