The Board then considered Resolution No. C-601 providing for a special election to be held .in conjunction with the General Election on November 3, 1964~ the same was unanimously adopted as follows: . RESOLUTION NO. C-66l A RESOLU'l'ION of the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, Washington, providing for the submission to the qualified electors of the County at a spe o1al ale ction to be held therein on November 3, 1964 of a proposition of whether :;.. or not the County should issue its unlimi ted tax levy general obligation bonds in the principal amount of $30,000 for the purpose of providing funds to acquire and install an elevator in the present County Courthouse. WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and advisable that an elevator be llcquired and il installed in the present County Courthouse; and 'i \'/HEREAS, in order to provide funds to pay the cost of acquiring and installing such!! elevator it is deemed necessary and advisable that the County issue its unlimited tax i: levy general obligation bonds in the principal sum of $30,000; and: II/HEREAS, the Constitution and laws of the StiJ.te of Washington require than the 'i question of I'hether or not such bonds rmy be issued for such purpose must be submitted th,: the qualified electors of the County for t heir ratification or rejection; NOli, THEREFORE, BE 1'1' RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissloners of Jefferson County, Washington, as follows: ~9n 1. It is hereby found and declared thut the public welfare, health, convan4 ience and nU[ety require the County to acquire and install an elevator to run from the basement to the third floor in the present Jefferson County Courthouse located in Port 'l'ownsend, \'1 a 00 ington., Secti'2.I}.}.... For the purpose of providi ng fums necessary to carry out the above-! descr~plan of capital improvements, the County mall issue and sell its unlimited ta~ levy eeneral obligation bonds in the principal amibunt of $30,000. Said bonds shall bear: interest at a rute of not to exceed 6% per annum, and shall mature serially in from two :1 to fifteen years from di:i.te of issue. Both principal of and interest on scrld bonds shalll be payuble ou t of annual tax levies to be made upon all the taxable property wi thin the :i County without limitation us to rate or amount.
