Monday, March 1, 1965.
The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session with
all members present. The minutes of the last regular meeting were .read and approved as
read.
Mr, Pierce Davis, Industrial Engineer representing Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and
Pa-cific Railroad Company presented an encroachment agreement to the Board for the :
Gardiner area. Upon motion of George Huntingford, seconded by Lyall Arey, the agreement
wi th the above Company was accepted and signed. .
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Goode appeared and requested to have Price Street in Irondale
opened to enable them to build a home at that location. The Engineer will send a crew
out to survey the right;-of-way.
An application for EF liquor license was approved for John W. Watkins and Corda B.
Watkins, Ja~so~ Cove, Brinnao~,Wash.
A notice was received from the Dept. of Natural Resources, stating that the County's
share of money received from Littlerock Milling Co. for sale of timber under app1ic.,tion;
#29523, S!NE;, EiSEtl NW~ SEt, Sec. 27 T. 28 N. R 1 E'l will be $3,167.20.
A petition for vacation of a portion of Prospect St. adjacent to Lots 17 through 19,
Block 5, and a portion of Lot 1, Block 6, Plat of Mats Mats Beach, was presented De~. 8,
1964 by John A. K1ase11, 4166 1st Ave. N. W., Seattle. No bond was filed and no notice
of hearing given. 'The County Engineer's recommendation is not to vaate and was filed.
No action taken.
For the purpose of completing the Planning Commission, W. K. A1masi, Seal Rock,
was appointed for a two year term.
An order of sale of County Property was signed for March 26, 1965 at 10:00 A. M.
Bills were examined and approved as follows:

The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session with
all members present.
A notice was received from the State Liquor Control Board stating that the applicati~n
for EF liquor license fur John \'1. i'latkins and Corda B. Watkins d/b/a Jackson Cove, :'
Brinnon, was rejected as the business is prinipa1ly that of selling gasoline and it is
not desired to ha ve liquor sold in that type of business. 0
The Boal'd members proceeded to Gardiner to inspect railroad in connection with the
encroachment agreement signed with the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad.

Mr. and Mrs. John W. Watkins presented the Plat of Jackson Cove Park, Divis~cn HI, :
Brinnon. Commissioner Lyall Arey made a motion, seconded by George Huntingford, that the
Plat be accepted with a correction. The Plat can be filed as soon as the correction is m$de.
A delegation from the lrondale area appClared and requested thut some property be
removed from the County land sale to be held march 26th for the purpose ot! constructing a.
playground in that area. The Board decided to remove lots 2-17 inc. and lots 22,23,24,
and 27 to 47 inc. in Block 1, Chalmers First Addition to Irondale from the sale. The
County Treasur~r was instructed to cancel those lots from his sale.
Liquor permits were received fbr Roy William Hudson, et U%, d/b/a Fran's Kitchen
P. O. Box 393, Gardiner, Wash.. and Jimnue Cotton, d/b/a Hadlock House, P. O. Box 67,
Hadlock, Wash.
Mr. Arthu.r Einarson appeared relative to the shortu[;e of display space at the
Jeffel'son County Muaewn and th e Historical Socie ty is being gI. ven indefinite use of a
glass showcase now being stored. on the 3rd floor of the Courthouse, by motion made by
I Lyall Arey, seconded by George Huntingford.
No further business ~peuring, the meeting was adjourned to April 5, 1965.
