having been enteredt the Board members signed an order granting an addition of $2240.00 II
to the Sheriff's bua.get for salaries of deputies, upon motion of Lyall Arey, seconded by II

WHEREAS, it has been brouiht ., to the a ttention of the Board of County Commisaonef,s
for Jefferson County, Washington, by the Sheriff of said' County, that in order to properJ:y
provide police services to all of Jefferson County, outside the city of Port Townsend, aqd
to secure the continuous employ of competent deputies, !3alaries should be increased comm~n-
surate with the hours involved and the respons~bil1ties attendant thereto, and that certSin
funds should be appropriated for au ch purpose and t he same has been fixed at the sum of I:

WHEREAS, such contemplated expenditure was not included in the Current Expense Fund::
budget for the office of the Sheriff of Jefferson County for the year 1965, and i t appea~s
tha t an emergency exists and that the expenditure of such funds could not have been reasoin-
ably forseen by all concerned at the time of making s aid budget; and, , :1
i'lHEREAS, all members of the Board of County Commissioners for Jefferson County have [bad
reasonable notice of the time, place and purpose of this meeting of said Board; now, the~e-
fore, it is hereby ,. !!

UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED by the members of the Board of County Commissioners for Jeffer~on
County, Washihgton, that the aforementioned facts constitute an emergency and that the i,
estimated amount of funds to meet Slch emergency is $2,240.00, and such emergency appropI):ia-
tion, it made, should be retroactive to Nardl l, 1965, and it is further if

date hereof, the County Auditor for Jefferson County be, and she is hereby authorized
to issue emergencr warrants on the CURRENT EXPENSE FUND of this County effec1;,i va March
