Minutes of the last regular meet.1ng were read and approved as read~ . r This being the time advert.1sed .tbr hearing on Resolut1on No. 0-608, and no ob'ject.1o~s having been enteredt the Board members signed an order granting an addition of $2240.00 II to the Sheriff's bua.get for salaries of deputies, upon motion of Lyall Arey, seconded by II Geor ge Hunting1'ord. :' i! q L " WHEREAS, it has been brouiht ., to the a ttention of the Board of County Commisaonef,s for Jefferson County, Washington, by the Sheriff of said' County, that in order to properJ:y provide police services to all of Jefferson County, outside the city of Port Townsend, aqd to secure the continuous employ of competent deputies, !3alaries should be increased comm~n- surate with the hours involved and the respons~bil1ties attendant thereto, and that certSin funds should be appropriated for au ch purpose and t he same has been fixed at the sum of I: $2,240 .00, an?, , ' Ii I! WHEREAS, such contemplated expenditure was not included in the Current Expense Fund:: budget for the office of the Sheriff of Jefferson County for the year 1965, and i t appea~s tha t an emergency exists and that the expenditure of such funds could not have been reasoin- ably forseen by all concerned at the time of making s aid budget; and, , :1 i'lHEREAS, all members of the Board of County Commissioners for Jefferson County have [bad reasonable notice of the time, place and purpose of this meeting of said Board; now, the~e- fore, it is hereby ,. !! !: UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED by the members of the Board of County Commissioners for Jeffer~on County, Washihgton, that the aforementioned facts constitute an emergency and that the i, estimated amount of funds to meet Slch emergency is $2,240.00, and such emergency appropI):ia- tion, it made, should be retroactive to Nardl l, 1965, and it is further if P..ESOLVED that noti ce of a publi c hearing upon such expenditure shall be giveI\ said !i hearing to be held on Monday, April 5, 1965, in the Commissioners' Room in the courthous~" Port Townsend, Washington, at th~ hour of ten 0' clock in the forenoon of s aid day. i: RESOLUTION NO. 0-6oa SE4.L ADOPl'ED this 5th day of Nar?h, 1965.
