WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of \'1ashington , acting as Agent of
ClI'ld for the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the United States of I
America, is desirous of oonstructing a Federal Aid Project, No. S-0497(7) & 5-0496(4) in I
Jefferoon County, over and across II

WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as Agent for II'
the United States Bureau of Public Roads, is desirous of receiving Feder...l funds for the II.
improvemen t of said road, and ,i
WHEREAS, the s aid Bureau of Public Roads of the Departmen t of Commerce of the Uni tedJ
States of America wLll not participate in the construction of said road until and unless~1
the County of Jefferson will agree to refrain from permitting encroachment upon the r1gh:
of way of said above-mentioned road, and until and unless the County of Jefferson will 'I
agree to refrain from passing resolutions affecting the free flow of traffic on said I
above-mentioned ro'ad or that wLll give preference to local routes \'ohich intersection witl'll
said road, other than by the erection or installation of "slo\'l' and/or "cau tion" signs o~
signals, or that will unreasonably hinder or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, II
and until and unless the County of Jefferson will gree, by suitable resolution, to adopt I
the grades of the improvement as the grades of the county road that is involved, and agree
to protect the State of Washington against any and all claims for damages on account of Ii
any changes of grades and the construction of this improvement, and until and unless the ii
County of Jefferson will agree to maintain said improvement within th e limits of the II
County of Jefferson after the improvement has been completedj 1'1
NOW, 'lliEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson .!

Jefferson County hereby agrees wi th the Department of Highways of the State of Washington!
