February 6, 1967 The Honorable Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with Chairman George Huntingford, Lyall Arey and Walter A. Kelly present. A delegation representing the Matts Matts Improvement Club (Ted Bauma, Vice-Presid- ent; George Simpokesj Cecil Clark and Ralph Van Valkenburg) appeared in regard to widening the intersections and installing mercury lights at the following locations: 1. Olympus Blvd. and O~ Bay Road 2. Olympus Blvd. and Carey Court 3. Verner Avenue and Oak Bay Road Mr. Becker wqs instructed to investigate and run compass lines. Commissioners \nll, follo~~p Mr. Becker's investigation on February 10, 1967. A letter was read from the Tri Area Business Club in regard to: 1. The placing of mercury vapor lights at Ness's Corner, and at the intersection of the Irondale,Chimacum,Port Townsend highway. 2. Placing of directional signs showing the way to Hadlock. An area map was attached with suggested locations for lights and signs. Mr. Becker will investigate and report to commissioners. Melvin Kivley of Hadlock appeared to 'Thank' the Board of Commissioners on tho nice job done on road through Hadlock. Felt they were too quick on criticism while job was in process. Also, complimented Commissioners on other road projects in the County. Request received from Veterans' Rehabilitation Council, 205 Insurance Building, Olympia, Washington, regarding the amount of monies allocated, expended and the surplus funds for the years 1964, 1965, and 1966 for the Soldiers and Sailors Indigent Fund. Clerk was instructed to secure information and send it to them. Resolution No. D-2 authorizing and directing the Treasurer to invest $6,000.00 was approved as follows: I I . RESOLUTION NO. D-2 I Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter Ill, Laws of Washington, 1965, the Treasurer of Jefferson countr be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to invest six thosuand dollars ($6,000.00 of the monies now carried on his books under "Suspense", representing excess paymenta made by purchasers at Tax foreclosure sales, with the First American National Bank of Port Townsend, a national banking association, in a Time Certificate of Deposit due after nine (9) months from date of issue.
