Arne Day appeared requesting date for preliminary hearing for Shine Gd La Village I'
plat. 11:00 a.m., May l5, 1967, was set for hearing. II

Commissioners wi th the stipulation that a clause be included in Franchise that "Jefferson!
COUl1ty be held harmless frolJ1 damages". Engineer Becker read letter received this a.m. Ii
citing P. U. D. Franchise in Lewis County, Washington - man was electrdlcl4ted and Lewis i!
County. was held responsible as there was no provision in Franchise \'h1ereby Le\'ds County 1'1
be held harmless from damages. Was agreed this clause should become a part of all.:
franchises granted in the future. ~
Hearing held on S-I Company preliminary plat (no-name) located at Termination I,
Point (Gov' t Lot 2, Section. 2, T 27 N R 1 E W M). Thero being no obje(:tions Commissioner
Arey moved and Commissioner Kelly seconded the motion that preliminary plat be accepted.ii
Plat was unamimously approved.'
Pacific Telephone Company application for installing underground cable refirred
back to telephone company for correction. Map and letter description do not match~
Mrs. Mildred Kelly and Virgil See appeared to ask Commissioners about validity of
threat to close off old ~tate highway off Duckabush road. She was advised this is still
a State and County road. Private individuals would have no right to close it without
facing legal action.
Clerk was advised to draw up a letter to Senators Jackson and Magnuson and
Congressman Lloyd Meed in regard to consideration of Dosewallips Basin and area near
Tubal Cain ~line as prospective ski areas.

County, Washington, 1966, and were pleased by the favorable

Copy of Washington State Liquor Control Board License No. 5911 issued to Carl
Dewey Lopeman and Beverly Jane Lopemen, Beaver Valley Store, Rt. 1, Port Ludlow, Wash,
98365 for an E and F License was received.
Letter received from Jefferson County Fire Protection District No.2, regarding
their request made last November to annex the Community of Tarboo. Clerk had answered
letter previous to meeting as advised by Prosecuting Attorney Bill Daly.
Bert L. Cole, Department of Natural Resources sent copy of letter notifying.
Treasurer of Jefferson County's share of monies received from Appl. No. 30476,
Pope & Talbot, Inc., for installment payment of timber.... $34,400.00. And, monies
received from Appl. 1/29523, Littlerock Lumber Co. install, paym't timber /1559.77.
State and Local Government Statistical Research Newaletter reviewed. (Analysis of
1965 County Road Fund - Financial Condition).
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned until i
May 5, 1967. Commissioners proceeded to inspect roads.

Attorney, Glenn Abraham appeared with Mr. and MrtJ. Stant,on CHrtar of Tr'a1ls End
Homesite Addition (Southpoint-Bridgehaven area). Mr. and Mrs. Carter had previously
roquGnted that the county front.age road deadonding in front of thoir proporty be vauntad
on April 17, 1967. Petition for road vacation was dGnied at that t:l.m~. Mr. Abraham,
speaking in behalg of the Carters requested ,that in lieu 017 road vaoation .o.s requested
