The Forest Service is financed on road monies.

to develop ski area.
Forest Service issues permit for 10 year period with
renew~l priviledge to permit holder. Fees are bases
on peroentage of gross receipts.
. Worthington felt the Dosewallips Basin was eliminated as ski -area due to the
fact that it is within the boundry of the Olympic National Park. Irregardless it would
,; be a difficult area to develop due to the miles of road that would have to be built to
make it accessable. Careful surveyal of the Tubal Cain area would have to be made
prior to costly physical development of the area be undertaken.

Trips will be taken into the area for visual survey before fall... and findings
will be reported back to the Commissioners after that. The letter response from Meed~
Jackson and Magnuson in regard to ski area in Olympic Jefferson County area has been
very good (refer to proposed ski area file).
John Hieber appeared regarding his development by Trails End Homesite-Southpoint
area. Would like Commissioners permission to put in sanitary s~stem and water system
on County frontage and to add Marina. Walter Kelly moved and Lyall Arey seconded motion
that general scheme be approved and details worked out with the County Engineer. It was
unanimously agreed. Mr. Hieber seid his request for approval was made so he can go to
the- Army Engineers with proposed Marina.

Clerk was instructed to return plans to Bonneville Power Administration for the
Shelton-Fairmount No. 3 - #144249DTM-D as per request. They were satisfactorily reviewed
by Comnrlssioners and the County Engineer.
Resolution D-ll was presented and approved as follows:

;j BE IT RESOLVED that the Treasurer of Jefferson County be, and he is hereby
i!authorized and empowered to transfer from the Jefferson County Equipment Rebtal and
iiRevolving Fu.nd to the West-End Cumulative Reserve Fund the sum of $5,000.00, and
l:forthwith invest the gross in said' Cumulative Reserve Fund to-wit:, the sum of
/1$15,000.00 with the First American National Bank of Port Townsend, in a six month's
iiTime Certificate of Deposit, 'renewable for three months additional upon maturity. '
